Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares. Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king's hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man's conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion...until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope. Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes...

 Visual Excellence

Immortals has easily been the best greek mythos film since 300 and this easily beats down the remake of clash of the titans in a heart beat. The director Tarsem Singh has got a brilliant visual flair which he has proved with many of his films and immortals is certainly no different to the rest, many have already said some parts in this actually resemble oil paintings of old and i must agree in parts this is stunning. I seen it on cinema and was a little disappointed with the 3d in it but lately what 3d in a film has really made the film any better?. The one thing that did impress me however was the sound, it is absolutely some of the best i have ever heard on cinema and i would imagine if you have a good sound rig up in your home this will be awesome on it. Overall Excellent.

As bad as Clash of the Titans remake? Almost

I was actually hoping for something worthy of the cast (which is impressive) but sadly those hopes were dashed. This really is drivel. A few decent effects, a good bad guy, the bog standard good guy and a hot chick. That's it basically and pretty much sums up you're average Epic these days.

Like Clash of the Titans they have slaughtered the Mythology and I really don't see the need. For anyone who knows anything about Greek Mythology this is a car wreckage. The story isn't very interesting, it's a fairly pointless story really. It could have been made so much better. The only good things going for it are John Hurt (who features in about ten mins of the movie) and Frieda Pinto who is unbelievably hot . They get the movie an extra star. For anyone who like action movies with an average script then this might keep your interest but be warned 300 it isn't.

This is a very awesome film, non stop action from start to finish, if you loved films like clash of the titans and especially 300 then this is certainly for you, great story thats fast paced with blood and guts and plenty of quality action scenes, the fight scenes are awesomely epic especially between the gods and the titans, top notch special effects and plenty of arty cool slow motion scenes! This is the perfect movie all round for fun and a good thrill ride, great cast, a must see.

It has the common sense to take it's silliness seriously!

The new Man of Steel and star of The Tudors Henry Cavill shows true star power as the Zeus blooded peasant battleing to stop King Mickey Rourke enslaving mythical ancient Greece. His muscular torso is better carved than the script, but it's the jaw dropping visuals and imagination that that takes hold of you, with it's abundant decapitations and even a sledge hammer vasectomy, Gods plunging from the heavens and an amazing brawl between Olypians and Titans keep the attention whilst some talky bits creep in, as you know some more cool stuff is about to happen.
Immortals may be camper than a Petshop Boys, Erasure, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Man II Man meets Man Parish reunion and a bit self important and a perfect example of style over substance but at least it has the common sense to take it's own silliness seriously.

Greek Mythical names but the whole movie is pure Hollywood

Another demi-God kid of Zeus is made onto the big screen. Hercules is next on the Hollywood hit list.

Tarsem Singh's visual flair is beautifully fused with the '300' production crew to deliver an artistic hack'n'slash with highly detailed accurate weapons and costumes indicative of 600 BC in Greece. Unfortunately after this it just parady of the recent 'Clash of the Titans' as the film is total hokam because there was only eight Titan Gods that were overthrown by the eight Olympian Gods. Hyperion is actually one of the original Titan Gods who is depicted as an angry King in this movie looking for some made up Bow.

The Titans are portrayed as endless hordes of Gladiators with skin rash problems while the Olympians are into Glam rock fashion
