From the director of Con Air and Lara Croft:Tomb Raider.

Jason Statham is Arthur Bishop - The Mechanic - an elite assassin with a unique talent for eliminating targets with deadly skill and total emotional detachment. But when the Agency double cross him and his mentor and friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is killed, Bishop enlists Harry's son (Ben Foster) on a mission to avenge his death.

As tensions rise and deceptions surface those sent to fix the problem soon become the problem themselves in this explosive, high-octane thrill ride.

A typical Jason Statham film but not as good.
This film has plenty of action but not much else
I found the storyline boring and predictable
Not really much else to say about this film apart for probably one for the died hard Statham fans only.

Oh Donald Sutherland was great as always but only in it for a short time unfortunatel

This is yet again another quality Statham movie, plenty of violent bloody action and carnage as he plays a top assassin know as a mechanic! The story is good, typical revenge theme which maybe a little predictable but who cares, sit back and enjoy the ride and let Statham do his thing!!

 'TYPICAL 'JASON STATHAM' MATERIAL'

the film seems to have quite a mixture of reviews, for me ? ...'jason statham' does what he does best---action movies
you pay yer money knowing this...?
arthur' is a hit-man who has no conscience, however when asked to kill a long-time friend he has to know why.
after the 'hit' he takes his friends 'estranged' son under his wing, the son obviously is not aware of the secret 'arthur' isn't sharing.
the film takes you through a few hits by the two, graphic stuff.
however 'arthur' is destined to be the 'target'
it's solid fast moving entertainment which is loosely following a similar tale to the '1972' --'charles bronson' movie of the same name........................the film is worth a spin----enjoy

If your a Statham fan you won't be disappointed in this rough remake of the Charles Bronson hitman thriller.
This film never sets it's self any higher than a old school action thriller, simple story, good action and great brain in neutral entertainment.
Staham play Arthur Biship (could have picked a better name) an assasin who loves his deadly job, but when the agency double cross him and his mentor Harry (Donald Sutherland) is killed, Bishop enlists Harry's son( Ben Foster) on a revenge filled mission. The tension set at some of the assassinations is very good and towards the end how the mind games is set out between Statham and the excellent Ben Foster are very well handeled.
The Machanic is a great uncomplicated action thriller and although it might sound similar to Statham's Transporter series this is nowhere as silly, but just as mindlessly entertaining.
One complaint is that if you look at the cover art to the film, it does show exploding helicopters...... I might have blacked out, but I cant remember any in the film.
See if to like....
The Transporter Trilogy.
The Expendables.
Assassin.
Assassins.
Nikita.
Leon.
