Experience the ultimate rush with the relentless thrills and breathtaking action photography of "Point Break".

Keanu Reeves stars as Johnny Utah, a clean-cut FBI rookie assigned to track down a gang of bank robbers operating in Southern California. Since his partner (Gary Busey) is convinced that the robbers are surfers, Johnny decides to go undercover in the maverick world of surfing. He soon meets Bohdi (Patrick Swayze), a charismatic adrenaline junkie who'll do anything for a thrill..perhaps even rob banks. As the two become friends Johnny falls under the dangerous influence of Bohdi. He becomes addicted to the endless days of surfing and reckless nights of partying, and even gets involved with Bohdi's ex-girlfriend (Lori Petty). As Johnny gets closer to cracking the case, he learns the truth of Bohdi's most important lesson - if you want the ultimate thrill, you have to pay the ultimate price.

Most action movies from the early 90's have dated quite badly but this is not one of them, released in 1991, i watched it in 2008 and loved it. I remember patrick swayze as the rubbish guy in dirty dancing and ghost, but he is the dude in the movie. Keanu revees is also very good. Action fans shud give this a shot, won't be dissapointed.

This is a much underrated blast from the past, that has stood the test of time, and is still as fresh and exciting now as it was way back in the winter of 1991 when it was released in the cinema. and looks better than ever before on Blu Ray.This is still Keanu Reeves best film, as it blasts the over-rated Matrix Trilogy and the overrated Speed out of the water and is up there with Road House and chick fick Dirty Dancing as Patrick Swayze coolest role.
The plot is simple enough as a gang of surfers/ adrenaline junkies lead by Swayze, rob banks dressed as the ex-presidents to get cash to follow the summer and surf around the Globe. Reeves a rookie FBI agent who is "young dumb and full of cum" is assigned to infiltrate the gang and bring them to justice.
But wait a minute, have I seen this film before? The answer is yes! This film was copied almost scene for scene by Fast and the Furiouse. But Point Break being ten years older than Fast and the furiouse is still far better. It may have a script that only has one toe dipped in reality, but the action is breath taking and the film is shot with jaw dropping style, Just watch for the house to house chase on foot, or the brilliant breath taking sky diving sequences.
So if you want to experience one of the great guilty pleasures, and one of the ultimate adrenaline rush's in the cinema for the past twenty years, buy this movie now. Even my fourteen year old daughter that it excellent (probably due to the six packs on show)The Blu Ray may have limited extra features but what little there is is good and it's worth also noteing that director Kathryn Bigelow wnet on to oscar glory as the first woman to win best director.
"SURF'S UP DUDE!"
See If you like......
Big Wednesday.
Riding with Giants.
Blue Crush.
Road House.
The Fast and the Furiouse series.
Speed.

Great film that still stands the test of time. Produced by James Cameron and directed by Kathryn Bigelow this has quality 90s tastic action. With a support cast of John C McGinley, Gary Busey and Tom Sizemore, this has some great scenes.....
Blu-Ray quality is no better than DVD to be honest, but at the time of this writing the Blu-Ray version is actually cheaper than DVD!!!
One of Patrick Swayze's greatest films.

 Great film, poor transfer.

So I bought this film expecting it to be a great blu-ray, which it was, the film is still brilliant! The performances still as great as the first time I watched it, and the excitement of the film was still there.
The only downside was the transfer to blu-ray. Knowing the film had many great scenes of the waves, and that brilliant sky dive, I was hoping the colours would be more intense. But I was sadly disappointed. The blues just weren't blue enough and the clarity not as sharp as expected.
All this aside, great characters, great plot, great film.
