127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers, family, and the two hikers he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet?

This film is the most intence and unplifting film experience I've ever had, my hands were sweating the whole time but it's such a joy to watch! If you have any doubts as to wether you can handle the trapped feeling, heights or most of all the blood, watch it anyway, because the film lets you look past it and see the strength of the human will to live!

This is one of those movies that even though you know what is going to happen, watching the movie doesn't lessen the impact.
Even though some people might be expecting a gore fest, this is in fact quite the opposite, it is quite an Uplifting and Triumphant movie.
Based on Adventurer Aron Ralston's extraordinary True Story, the film sets itself up quickly, establishing the lead character, his outlook and impulses.
He's presented as a guy who will kinda take a chance and give things a try. I've read in a few mainstream magazines that this makes him a bit of a twit.
I don't agree, yes he should have told someone where he was going, taken a phone etc. but what happens to him was just very unlucky.
Danny Boyle's direction is top notch and straight to the point, he is only one of few directors who could manage to make this sort of movie Exciting and Exhilarating.
The Camera Angles, Soundtrack and Cinematography also contribute greatly.
The lead performance from James Franco is Excellent and will surely be awarded with a Oscar Nomination in due course.
His performance is a difficult one to undertake, but he comes across as Humerous, Positive, Panicked and ultimately Real.
I also really liked the way his family were presented in flashbacks, as a real genuine family, this makes you care about him even more.
To sum up, a Very Impressive little movie with a Positive and Inspiring message.
ALSO - worth checking out the kinda similar, but not really Ryan Reynold's film BURIED. Which is a fictional story, but with a unique concept and performance.

based on the true story of 'aron ralston's' journey and the expierience's
of his remarkable battle for survival.
'aron's trip to a remote region leads to a near death expierience when trapped by a large boulder, the night and days pass with little or no hope of rescue.................didn't even tell anyone where he was going.
it's a dramatic tale of choices which very few of us could make, could you ? .........don't think i could of.
great movie, super blu-ray material................a must see.

 Stunning Bluray. Exceptional

I have the USA release which has just came out, and have to say that this is the new demo disc. Aside from being a very good film indeed, the picture quality will simply leave you breathless. Amazing colours just leap off your screen in stunning HD. Add to this the style of Danny Boyles mind and you have a real must have film. Worth it alone for the first 20 minutes. Amazing

It felt like 127 hours watching it....

Bloke goes off in search of adrenaline hit. Bloke has an accident. Bloke is stuck. How will bloke get unstuck....? Yes yes I know it's based on a true story, and is therefore an amazing insight into human endurance and will power. And the film is reasonably well potrayed. But as a spectacle it's rather dull. It's worth a watch - at best. But that's it.

Try 'Touching The Void' for something a little more emotional and enjoyable.
