Like Damon a lot unfortunately not in this movie... it's probably not his fault but I was expecting more of a good action/thriller rather than feel good romance...

this is an unusual film, got to say it took me a while,to really get into it, however it did get me hooked, put me in mind of films like 'the matrix' ....why ? .....a paralell reality exsist's in both.
a mystrerious force control's our destiny and prevents us to follow an alternative course.
'david norris' a posible future presidential candidate meets 'elise sellas' a ballet dancer by a twist of fate.
however a romance between the two is not part of the grand plan, fate splits them up for several years, however by chance 'david' see's her again, romance again blossoms.
the 'bureau' ,make it clear to 'david' that to continue along this unwritten path could ruin the ambitions of both.
'david' again steps back, however his feelings do not alter.
will 'love' beat the system or are they to be kept appart...............the chase is on.
the film will make you smile............worth a watch.

On front cover of the movie The Adjustment Bureau is described by Total Film as "Bourne Meets Inception" the only thing this movie has in common with that excellent spy trilogy is Matt Damon, but I can go along with Inception, but not on the same scale as 2010's summer mind melter.
Infact The Adjustment Bureau is a mix of all types of movies, that deals with a fixed destiny as unseen forces steer Matt Damon's fate, until he meets the beaultiful Emily Blunt and Damon's fate stumbles of the pre-planned path. The chemstry between Damon and Blunt is brilliant as the fall for each other before the mysteriouse men in hats start to conspire to split the two lovers apart at any cost so Damon can get back on the set path of his all important destiny.
The film surprised me because this is a perfect date movie, it's got something in for everybody. The sci-fi elements work well, and the final half hour has a great chase through the streets and between the doorways of New York, but the real backbone to the film is the love story that never is sloppy but every moment between Damon and Blunt rings true.
The film is very well directed and I'm sure if you wanted to be picky you could pick plot holes in the story big enough to drive a truck through, but on the whole this is a very original film that everybody should enjoy.
Nice steel case too!

From the trailer, I expected much more of a chase movie than I got - but this isn't to say that's a bad thing. But I think it explains why some people didn't like the film.

It's very much a romance film with sci-fi undertones through-out - so if you're expecting action and thrills, I'd just skip to the final 15 minutes.

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt both put in fine performances, my only disappointment with this film is that the Bureau aren't as sinister as they could have been. The trailer really made them out to be a force to be reckoned with, whereas they don't quite live up to that in the film itself.

Well worth a look in my opinion - and the steelbook is a very nice addition to my collection!

I don't know what everyone's going on about, maybe I watched a different movie, I loved the Bourne books and movies and expected this to be good, I found it lacking in action and thought that it failed to deliver any decent story line. The main characters falling in love didn't seem credible to me, it just plodded on and ended with a great big anti-climax, I doubt that it will even get a second play.

Matt Damon does an excellent job in persuading us (again) that he can play diverse character roles exceptionally well. Jason Bourne was a hard act to follow and he just keeps doing it.

Emily Blunt was stunning to look at, listen to and watch as a fine actress in her own right and who complemented Matt Damon very naturally. They worked well together throughout the movie.

There wasn't a character in the whole movie who seemed out of place or uncomfortable with their role or script. Everyone turned out to be worthy of their part to play.

As for the story. Wow, it was truly entertaining for all the right reasons. There didn't need to be CGI at every turn - and there wasn't - in order to make this movie something special. The fabulous performances and wonderful plot did that.

The film for me was unexpected in many ways and all of them great. It's a memorable movie and one I'd happily watch again.

As one of the other reviewers has already mentioned; I doubt I'll ever look at a trilby wearer in the same way again! Awesome.

Highly recommended. Buy it. I will :-)

One of the best movies this year. Loved the storyline, the acting, the direction. It really does make you wary of men in trilbys ( sorry to all trilby owners out there!) It makes you think...and it makes you think again...and you want the ending you get. Brilliant movie, that also makes Matt Damon someone other than jason bourne! brilliant! own it!

Really enjoyed this Romantic Sci Fi Chase Movie.
The story is very simple, as in Matt Damon's character has his life mapped out and has a Pre Determined role in the world, and to keep things running he has a secret group of people to make sure it stays that way. And then he meets a girl....
And from there the mind games and chases begin.
The film is Inventive, Intelligent but also lots of Fun.
The central relationship between Mat Damon and Emily Blunt is very Natural & Convincing and that's what pulls you into the movie.
Both Actors are on Fine form. The effects are very slick but not over the top, and the design of the movie is very Cool.
Director George Nolfi may be one to watch out for.
