Bought this so i could have extended versions of all three films, and i'm not disappointed, amazing sound quality and picture quality is awsome.
Ignore people moaning about film being on 2 discs, as this means the picture quality and sound quality are 100% perfect, which i feel is worth swapping discs to get the definitive version of what are one of the greatest film series ever.

I originally bought the fellowship on regular DVD then bought all three on extended DVD now the blu-ray extended edition is released! How can they justify this, at over 25GB per disc there is more than enough space for a film (no compromise on quality), the extras could be on another blu-ray disc easy. No, I will not be buying this on blu-ray out of principle just to have another set of the same! I am a huge fan of blu-ray technology but do we all have mug stamped on our foreheads when they release these new versions expecting us to buy again. I don't think so.

Ive just paid 30.00, for what is probably the best ever trilogy available, with extended blue ray copies and tonnes of extras, Basically 10.00 per film. Wow!
What a series of films too. Epic! and I am really looking forwards to seeing them in HD. I only wish they were also available in 3D, however the new series the Hobbit is...
I dont think I need tell anyone about these films, if you havent seen them, well BUY now at this price.
I can understand people paying 50.00 being abit miffed, however just because the films are on 2 discs just seems silly to me. Go for a piss or get another beer from the fridge, stretch your legs abit and move a few feet towards the tv and back again...
For 30.00 you really cant go wrong. Well done PLAY!!!

  Outstanding Film Set

A must have set for your blu-ray collection. The picture and sound quality are top notch and the films still have all their glory to hold them together. Time flies by when watching you wont even realise you've been sitting down for more than 3 hours. And with the new scenes added, you gain more story and understanding on certain plot points. Recommended to anyone and everyone.

2 discs ! No problem ! It is Perfect !

Listen to me well all those unhappy or questioning about 2 discs!

I bought this upon knowing that these films are all on two discs. I was skeptical at first but it poses no problem whatsoever. Each part is between 1hr45 to 2 hours long. It is done to preserve quality and add the extra content for the movies. This does not ruin the experience at all! They end at good places which you can easily fall straight back into after the change. NOW STOP COMPLAINING ! :P

It is a awesome trilogy, the extra material makes me so happy :) There is a extension on character development at times and a better understanding or lesser characters stories.

BUY IT! You won't regret it! I promise! This is coming from a huge fan of the movies :)

  Awesome. Must buy!

This is the best collection you will ever own. I've had the DVD collection for some time and watch all my films on a 6 foot screen. I've waited for a long, long time for the extended edition to come out and in bluray. Having waited and listened to the comments on forums and on reviews, finally the extended bluray was made available and I bought it. You have to own this. To be honest, i just expected the sound to be better having a fairly good surround system etc. The difference in picture and sound was apparent straight away. The colours were more vivid and yet more natural. The clarity is awesome and the sound is just mind blowingly good. This is a must own collection.
For all those concerned about stretching over to another disc, get a life. Get up, make a brew, change over and settle down again to the best thing you will ever watch on DVD.
