This is not a review so much of the film but of the box set. I found the blu ray transfer to be poor, the picture on Sky HD looks better. Of course like all Universal blu rays it contains the same unimaginative stock pop up menus and set up menus. The tin comes with some nice stills from the film, a poster and a load of tacky postcards. The box set is very poor and unimaginative when compared to other recent releases like Lord Of The Rings and Star Wars. Disc content is good and of course Jurassic Park is and always will be one of the greatest summer blockbusters of all time but the quality of Universals blu rays is if anything, lazy.
loved the stuff they give you with the blu ray box set, really brought back some good memories, would recommend to any hardcore jp fan as myself ^^
Just recently received this set from Play and I have to say it's a very impressive Blu-Ray set its a fantastic steel tin and looks very nice on the shelf the picture and sound quality is just right considering the age of the films and all the extras and extra content you get with set makes it worth while
Almost 20 years on, as Jurassic Park now settles formly into the throne as a blockbuster classic, Jurassic Park finally gets it's Blue Ray release it truly deserves.
It's pointless going over the plot of the movies as no doubt if you have bought this brilliant package you'll know them scene for scene and word for word.
Even after there thousands of showings on ITV2 Jurassic park has not last the impact to thrill, even at the time ground breaking effects hold up well, but on Blue Ray all the films look amazing. The Lost World with it darker look comes out best.
But great visuals don't make great films?
Jurassic Park 1993.
This shows Spielberg at the top of his game. Like Jaws it has grown up actors playing grown up parts. Back in 1993 on it's release when the beasts arrive the jaws were truly on the floor. This is a fantastic rollercoaster with thrills chills and spills of equel measure and although imittated a thousand times has never been beaten.

The Lost World : Jurassic Park 1997.
The wow factor had gone by it's release in 1997 as everybody and their dog was using CGI, but Spielberg knew what the fans wanted, and although the script may be not as good as the first and the tagged on ending that turns into Godzilla feels as an after thought is ill-advised the film max's out on the dino action and the cliffhanging sequence is nerve shredding brilliant.
****1/2
Jurassic Park III 2001.
Spielberg passed over directing duties to Joe Johnson ( Captain America) Sam Neil returns and the effects are even better, it's by far the shortest of the three, the characters are very under written, but some of the action sequences are up there with the best of the rest. it's a great shame it has the biggest anti-climax ending I have ever seen. It's as if they have ran out of money and decided to close shop!

The extras a good, with new interviews, but as usual Spielberg still refuses to do a yack track. With this package you get a nice poster. stickers, Black and white post cards and a bunch of inked post cards that to be honest look like they have been drawn by an 8 year old, and a tatty looking book that folds out with all the beasts to size up.
But the red and black tin case is worth paying the extra four, it would even make a nice lunch box.
In all it's a classy remastered package that is worth upgrading the original DVD versions for.
This is the perfect collection for kids young and old.
