Super (Blu-ray)

This is a brilliant and very funny and well made film in every way!! This movie was made on small budget compared to films like kick-ass but it goes a long way!! This movie was quoted as being better than kick-ass, im a big fan of that film and have to strongly agree that Super is just as good for so many different reasons!! The casting for this movie is perfect, everyone in it is brilliant, Ellen page is the one that steals the show she is so fantastic to watch, the level of comedy element is great and will make you laugh guaranteed!! The story is very good too it even at sometimes stops being a joke and can have serious moments, by the end of the film you feel for the characters and feel like you have had a blast with all the action too, theres plenty of bloody and at times pretty gory violence!! If you loved kick-ass or like superhero comedy or just want to watch a fun filled movie that you may even relate too then you have to see Super!! Gem of the year!!

This movie started good. I liked the casting, and the plot seemed ok.

But after 15 minutes the film started to go downhill.
The acting was ok, but none of the caracters were belivable. Ellen Page did a good job being unrealistic, and her character breach was just weird. She went from a cool little nerdy girl to a naive psycho without any explanation.

All in all this movie failed so miserably in it's attempt to be original. I would love to see a movie that had continued to be so cool as it was in the beginning.

I bought this film for two reasons 1) Trailer looked fun 2) It said it was better than kick-ass which is a massive boast. One out of two isn't bad is it ?

Firstly, it's nothing like Kick-Ass, It's like saying a glass of water is like the ocean. In short the film is like someone took the Office and made a character dress up in a super hero outfit and fail to get a laugh. If you love the office, you may like this, if you're mentally retarded you may also laugh. In CONCLUSION...If you are even thinking of buying this - RENT IT or BORROW it.

It's that bad it should be banned.

'the film claims on it's cover to be better than 'kick ass' .....mmm...don't believe it, 'kick ass' is a '5' star' treat, though i do rate 'ellen page' ( who has made better films such as 'juno' 'whip it' and 'inception' which are allmost certainly worth watching ) which brings me back to 'super'
like 'kick ass' we have a would be super-hero, trouble being 'frank' has no super-power's.............using a 'wrench' to bludgen' the villians.
'frank's' goal is to save his estranged 'wife' from drug-dealer 'jacques' clutches, 'frank' is joined by 'libby' who offers to be his side-kick.
the film does have much tongue-in-cheek humour, along with plenty of bloody-violence.
may wanna try before you buy ?

I'm quite amazed at some of these reviews especially plays no1 reviewer, I wish reviews had an age on them..

The story line starts well but then dips far too violently for me. Grotesque violence in places don't let your kids watch this

I've been a fan of Wilson in 'the rocker' and others but this was poor, got bored
