Picking up a few days after the finale of Season 1 the second and final season 'V' takes the action oriented approach of the first season and continues it headlong into it's eventual finale.
Making little attempt to correct the haphazard and at times eyebrow raising plotting of the first season, we follow as the rebel Fifth Column continue in their attempt to expose the Vistors and their leader, Anna's true plans for the Earth and it's people. As alliegiances and alliances shift in both directions along the way amongst both groups the future of Earth hangs in the balance.
It's all no deeper or smarter than the first season was, but roll with the focus on action (and a shootout, explosion or chase is never far away here) and it's all passable entertainment as the show wades it's way through some unintentionally funny dialogue, acting and cliffhangers to a series finale that was either written by a team that knew a third season wasn't happening and thought 'What the heck.............' or who were planning some major changes to continue with. And although the CGI visual effects continue to vary in quality thanks to the heavy use of virtual environments (which are covered in a bonus feature) the show generally looks good.
Overall, it's entertainingly simple stuff.
