I must have watched these three movies at least a handful of times each, I barely seem to see a couple of months go by without my wife wanting to chuck one on. I know it is easy to dismiss them as teen romance movies, but unless I have simply been brain washed by them, there is actually something very tangible running through these movies. They can be overy mushy at times and the acting a little stiff and the directing, especially during the first movie, a little rough, these movies, from a non avid fan point of view, leave a lot to be desired but still are very good in their own right. With this box set, as a trilogy, a set of three movies, they work very well, unlike other trilogies, these three films don't keep following the same structure each movie has a different flow and different emotions and expereinces help the story move along nicely and help the characters to grow, mature and change quite well on the screen. As I watch them I enjoy comparing them to eachother to work out which in my opinion is the best of the three and I can't actually answer as they all have such different qualities to them. The songs played throughout the films suit them well and the music is at times pretty amazing and touching, and even though I find the first movie quite slow and ploddy to get going once it does, you might just get whisked away into this fantasy romance saga. So, if you haven't seen them, please don't be put off by the extreme over hyping and teen crushes, go into them with an open mind and you might be pleasantly impressed. They all look fantastic in their blu ray form and the discs hold some great extras too. I only wish had they not have been aimed at the teenage market, they could have been a tad darker and creepier to enhance the feeling of threat you would expect from a movie about vampires and werewolves. Again, with this exceptionally good price for three modern day classics, you can't really go wrong, it is a steal.
