Award-winning director Joe Wright creates a boldly original suspense thriller with Hanna, starring Academy Award-nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Atonement) in the title role.

Raised by her father (Eric Bana of Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland, Hanna's upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.

This is a remarkable movie with a fantastic story and a great cast, Saoirse Ronan who plays Hanna is a fantastic actress and really steals the show, the music for the movie was scored by the chemical brothers and is very unique and plays a major role in making the movie extra cool, a fast paced action packed film, original and brilliant a must see.

 Hmmmm... Miss.

Must have watched a different version. Low budget, a little dull and plodding, mostly predictable, some o.k. acting in some parts but mainly disjointed and a missed opportunity to make a decent movie. The start was ridiculous and you never really gain any emotional interest or connection with the main characters who fail miserably to connect with each other. Pity but definitley not a keeper.

Far from what it could have been.

First and foremost do not think of this film as an action film, the marketing was completely wrong in that respect. The actions scenes are few and far between and not particularly adeptly directed. This is more a film about a journey and is about as subtle as a brick to the face (once you hear the main character say "what is music?" you pretty much know what is going to be happening throughout the film). Some of the scenes come across as having come from a film student's presentation piece and Eric Bana who is by far the most interesting character is completely wasted. This is essentially a world populated by strange characters and eccentricity and this does not give anything more to the film but in fact detracts. Do not get me wrong it is not a bad film just rather dull, bland and poorly constructed.
