From visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) comes this visceral, satisfying thriller based on Seth Grahame-Smith's best seller. Benjamin Walker turns in a killer performance as Abraham Lincoln, who must risk the presidency, his family and his life to protect America from bloodthirsty vampires. Lead by the diabolical Adam (Rufus Sewell), the vicious creatures plot to create a nation of their own - the U.S.! Thrust into an epic fight against the hideous undead killers, Lincoln must rely on those around him. But it's unclear who he can trust in this white-knuckle adventure that's ablaze with plot twists, blood-pumping action and spectacular effects!

( not really )
seeking only revenge for his mothers death, 'abraham' accepts the conditions set out by 'henry' to be trained as a 'vampire' slayer.
along the way, telling of his meeting with and marriage to 'mary' along with his beliefs leading to his political rise to 'u.s' president, and the onset of the civil war.....the film..............
with 'silver' bullets and 'blades' flying, and blood curdling action, the movie is a 'great romp' 'great fun' ......total entertainment.

 VERY AVERAGE..

the story follows abraham from a young boy to becoming president and following the story of slavery and the civil war..but also from the outset throwing vampires who live among us into the mix..
for the first 30 mins or so the story is quite intresting and good enough to keep you intrested but as the movie progresses the storyline becomes very week and all your really doing is watching abraham slash a few vampires here and there with his axe..oh by the way if your a big vampire fan you may think hang on vampires who walk round in the day and who die by silver..not shore what they were thinking..i thought the picture was good but the special effects a little week..i would like to assure you this is not a five star movie and you may want to rent before you buy because i wasnt in any rush to watch again..hope this helps..

The film starts off quite interesting, some great sets and you can sense Burton's Gothic touch all over the production. The film is mostly played straight much in the same way 2011's very underrated Cowboys and Aliens was and to this the films benefit. The problem lays with the vampire slaying bits as it soon becomes repetative as you seen one decapitation with an axe and you seen them all. The vampires themselves are pretty good and can walking in daylight (without twinkling!) and the CGI is impressive but vastly over used. There are some geat action sequences but with all the CGI it just feels like a computer game. The suspense is none existant but what really cripples this movie is the erratic editing. This film feels like it has been butchered in post production just to quicken the pace. There is over use of slo-mo that is used at every opportunity and to honest if it wasn't used I figure the movie would only be forty five minutes long. It's not as much fun as it should have been and will quickly be forgotten.
See if you like.......
Van Helsing.
The Mummy.
The Mummy Returns.
Cowboys and Aliens.

This was basically a joke stretched into a film..but the joke wasnt there in the first place.Visually, it looked good.Acting was ok, but soon becomes so-so.And it took itself way too seriously. And yes, its to be watched with a pinch of salt, but some scenes were just laughable.Avoid.
