I too was initially cynical about the new crop of Bond films but I have definitely been proved wrong. Daniel Craig has definitely made the role his own and the latest instalment does not disappoint. The locations, stunts, and special effects are A1 and this will definitely be top of my 'pre-orders' list.

Almost wipes away the putrid stench of Quantum of Solace

almost.

A very good attempt and, although it doesn't quite match Casino Royale, it is a worthy addition to the Bond franchise.

i have to say when i first saw casino royale i thought these people have destroyed the bond franchise as did many other bond fans out there but in time daniel craig and the movie grew on me and now i look at it as being a really good gritty action packed movie with a good storyline..
as for the 2nd one well ill say no more..
now what with all the hype of skyfall and i mean hype this movie had expectations to live upto so when i sat down with the opening scene all was well good opener nice and gritty and bond being hardcore.
then you get the jist of the storyline its simple but ok..as for the movie i felt it went a little flat for a good stint..shore there were some good one liners and a couple of shootouts but for the length of the movie i felt it was dragging a little..as for the ending it reminded us of the old days what with the aston and the old style music kicking in..the final fight was a little different this time but i suppose it goes well with this type of bond..theres a sad and sweet ending but wont say anymore..
all in all a solid movie but not the best bond movie by a long shot..
maybe its just me but when something gets to much hype maybe i expect something amazing..

This has got to be the best James Bond of all time. I went to the cinema and it was absolutely packed out. Really enjoyed everything about it. The story line was excellent. Also right at the end of the film it said James bond will return. Well I will let you decide but it's brilliant and very British!

Alot was riding on the third outing for Daniel Craig as Bond, especially after the less than positive reviews of Quantum Of Solice. It's been a four year break since the last outing. Director Sam Mandes may seem as a strange choice as he is more used to directing character driven dramas and not high octane spy adventures, so how does this lastest installment turn out? I actually saw this in a basic cinema at Boweness Windermere on a rainy and cold Sunday afternoon, no state of the art sound, medium sized screen and seats so cramped my knees were resting in the back of the neck of the person sat directly infront of me. So with this back to basics retro viewing this would show any faults with the film. I have got to say from the moment the pre-title Turkish set action sequence kicks in I was hooked. This is classic Bond and Mandes is proven to be a revelation as the Director as he handles the action but delivers more on the drama. The thing about this movie is that it dares to do something different and takes the series in a whole new direction. This leads to a climax that reminds me of Straw Dogs and with a emotional unexspected sucker punch of a ending. This is Bond at his best, never letting the action get in the way of the character and although some may gripe that it may lack action, this film is all the better for it. Of course this is the 50th anaversary of the series and there as some subtle nods of the Bond movies past, but nothing is shoe horned in as it was in the desasterous 20th movie Day Another Day. Craig just proves he has grown into the role and all the characters play their roles perfectly. The only minor gripe is some obvious product placement, but with such a high budget movie they do need their sponsors. I have tried not to include spoilers as respect to the ones who have not seen this movie yet. All I will say is if you hated the past three films, this will also be greeted with disaproval. But if like me you think Craig is the best incarnation of Bond and his films gritty edge is just what the series needed then Skyfall is premium Bond a massive improvement on the sombre Solice and actually better than the classic Casino Royale.
