Based on Chris Ryan's best-selling book, Strike Back is a compelling story of betrayal, glory, redemption and revenge played out through the interlinking lives of two former soldiers: military hero Hugh Collinson (Andrew Lincoln) and discharged veteran John Porter (Richard Armitage).

In three stand-alone narratives based in Iraq, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Pakistan the stories interweave the dramatic politics of war, with the personal demons of two very driven men. From scenes of intense combat to the confines of a brutal prison and the desert landscapes of Iraq to the lush greenery of the Zimbabwe outback, Strike Back is drama of cinematic proportions.

SECTION 20 returns with two new highly-skilled and battle-hardened operatives - British Sergeant Michael Stonebridge and ex-US Delta Force Commando Damien Scott. Tasked by razor-sharp new section head, Colonel Eleanor Grant, to track the lethal, elusive terrorist Latif, in possession of an apocalyptic WMD, our heroes must put aside their differences and defuse a plot that could ignite a war.

Strike Back: Project Dawn is a breathlessly tense, smart and sexy adventure. Across five stories, Scott and Stonebridge plunge into a terrifying siege in a Delhi hotel; mount an undercover operation to derail a weapon heist in Cape Town by a ruthless former IRA operator; take up arms against a ferocious Sudanese militia to rescue a British aid worker; track a treasonous spy in a savage Balkan gangster state; and finally, race to stop a huge-scale double suicide bomber attack in Budapest, orchestrated by the ingenious, merciless Latif. As Section 20 finally confront their nemesis, prey becomes predator in a staggering series climax...

Prepare to be blown away from this box-set containing both seasons of Strike back.

Strike Back 2010:
Forget the corny SAS series Ultimate Force and also the tacky 1981 movie Who Dares Wins. This series based on Chris Ryan's best selling book is a complelling story of betrayal, redemption and revenge. It's all played out by the interlinking lives of two former soldiers, discharged John Porter ( Richard Armitage ) and Hugh Collinson (Andrew Lincoln). The series is set around three stand alone feature lengh stories that bases the action in Iraq, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Pakistan as the stories skillfully interweave the dramatic politics and the fog of war and dealing with the personal demons of the two men.
Filmed in South Africa this all action series features skillfully handeled scenes of intense combat to the confines of a brutal prison cell and the war torn deserts of Iraq to the African outback. This is a action drama that outshines most others and although shot for TV it features ear shredding action of cinematic proportions.
It's a fantastic boys own adventure and at times may only have one foot in reality makes way for some of the best action and escapism in ages, that only leaves you battle hungry for series 2 :Project Dawn.
Strike Back Project Dawn: 2011
Section 20 return but now with a mostly new cast. the two main leads are British Sergeant stonbridge and ex-Delta force Damien Scott both team up to track the lethal and elusive terrorist Latif who now has possession of apocaltptic WMD.
This second season is just as smart as the first, but now with a new cast and bigger budget the show managers to actually improve on season 1 as Scott and Stonebridge plunge gun first in a terrorist siege in a Delhi hotel, mount an undercover operation to hault a weapon heist in Capetown by a very nasty IRA operator, eliminate Sudanese miltia to rescue a British aid worker and deliver serious payback to a Balkan gangster not forgetting to stop a huge scale suicide bomb attack in Budapest and Scott still makes time to sleep with as many beautiful women as possible.
Like the first season this is breathless stuff that manages to be even more exciting. The chestry between Stonebridge and Scott is brilliant as they trade insults. The weapon use is very realistic, and although this is comic book stuff tied in around real world situations it makes for some of the most impressive action seen on TV.
The only problem is that it leaves us all waiting for season three.
