In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evils might beware my power... Green Lantern's light!

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

This is a very entertaining comic book movie that stands apart from your average marvel film, its good to see an original concept for a change from another character in the DC comic range! This movie has allot of visual effects that look top notch and is partly set on another world apart from earth which is pretty cool, the story is great and you dont need to know anything about the comics to get into it, it has a brilliant cast, Ryan Reynolds does well in the lead role and Mark Strong is very cool as Sinestro! This is a fun filled action packed comic movie thats well worth checking out its certainly one of the years best and most unique films!!

 Excellent 3D

This, in my opinion, is the best 3D movie so far. It's jawdropping visually. The acting is fun and casual, the story is more about the journey than the destination. Most adults will just be watching the last third for the SFX only as the climax is slightly tedious/obvious. This seems to be the case with most superhero films of late, as though audiences can't handle a suprise or twist if it hasn't been developed to death.

In 2D this would be a 3-4 star film. In 3D its blows the roof off. Unlike the overly frantetic transformers 3D which jumps from scene to scene, image to image, Green Lanterns allows you to take in what you're seeing from a much wider angle viewpoint as well as immersing you in some edge of your seat thrill-ride experiences. The flight sequence at the beginning is incredible and has spurred the studio behind Top Gun to do a 3D remastering.

3D - 11/10
Story - 7/10

The visuals don't really come towards you, which I like and think is very underexploited. Most filmmakers think this makes 3D tacky and more like a fad. The 3D Hungry public seems to not agree. However, the scale, imagery, design and size of the effects on offer are fantabolous.

If you're thinking of buying a 3D TV - make sure it's big, very big. No less that 47inches or the effect won't really work.

 3D version is pants

started watching the 3d version of the film and wasn't to impressed nothing much seemed 3d or was just a bit blurry so we switched to the normal Blu ray version,
the film it self was ok could have been more battle scenes in but the majority of the film was explaining the story, hopefully green lantern 2 will be better

 VERY GOOD ADAPTATION

Ok fair enough reynolds does seem to be playing very much the same character in all his films of late and here he goes again in green lantern but i have to disagree with some of the flack this films been taking. Its very good with some great characters and outstanding sfx and in 3d is jawdropping, ignore what youve read from negative reviews as it almost stopped me going to see it at the cinemas, im glad i went with my gut!!!

Slated by the critics but I liked it!

Saw this in 3D at the movies & the SFX are remarkable-very good 3D.Perhaps a weak storyline but still a very entertaining visual treat for sci-fi buffs. In the cinema I almost got vertigo flying through space.Read the comics as a kid & had a Green Lantern painted metal figure many years ago.I preferred this to Thor 3D which I found disappointing.
