A brilliant adaptation of a classic

Well worth the purchase! The staging is fantastic, the actors brilliant (potentially the best I've seen in the Phantom production...haven't quite made up my mind), but for me the prize goes to the orchestra. I'm a huge fan of the phantom music, and the richness of the orchestra does it the justice you can't physically acheive in a smaller broadway theatre. Top that with the vocals of the actors, and you have a winner!

Misses the charm of the production

Being recorder in the RAH, this performance misses the quality of the normal production. One essential item, the Chandleir that is raised in the first act and falls down in the middle of the performance is deleted. Inacceptable... The digital background also fails with the close ups. Once again, not the best that one could and should expect.

For me... Simply, the best show on earth!

If you believe that a musical is just people dancing and singing you'll have to think it over! This is, for me, the most amazing and moving show on the planet! The performers are superb, the image and sound quality of the Blu-ray Disc are stunning and the grand finale is one of the best surprises you could ever expect if you have a heart and love music. Thanks to all the 130 people on stage and backstage, to the Royal Albert Hall and to the genius of Andrew Lloyd Webber. NOT TO BE MISSED!

The next best thing to seeing it live

I've seen Phantom of the Opera 4 times at its 25 year home, Her Majesty's Theatre, and was also very fortunate to be able to see it at the Royal Albert Hall. Although nothing beats seeing it live, this really is the next best thing. Ramin and Sierra are fantastic leads, supported by a wonderful cast and orchestra. Visually stunning (as you would expect!) and beautifully shot, showing the little details you wouldn't even get sitting in the front row seeing it live. A truly remarkable addition to the Phantom collection, and a version of the show which will remain iconic for the rest of time.

I've always wanted to see the stage show but only ever got the time to see the film version. If I knew they were doing this I would so loved to have been there. What a spectacular show. It will take your breath away. Buy buy buy is a must, especially as a musical fan.

My twin sister and I saw this during the big screen showings. We have seen the stage show 5 times but this version blew us away! Ramin and Sierra were outstanding. Both were so absorbed in their characters and showed incredible sensitivity and emotion, all of which is gloriously picked up by the intricate camera angles. There is a wonderful subtle touch at the end which links back in to Love Never Dies that depicts the hidden passion between Phantom and Christine. I cannot wait for this to be released. It is without doubt the best concert version of a musical and is top of both my sister and my Christmas lists! Anyone who loves this musical must buy this DVD, it will not disappoint!

I was one of the lucky ones that got to watch this live at the Royal Albert Hall and it was just incredible! I'd seen it before at Her Majesty's Theatre and I was really looking forward to seeing Ramin as the Phantom in the original after him becoming my favourite Phantom after watching Love Never Dies.

Now obviously I can't rate the filming of the show but the show itself.... Is there a 10 star button?!

I saw this "live" at my local cinema and was really impressed with the acting of Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess in particular. The quality of the camera work and sound for a live theatrical filming was amazing. Dissolved into tears just as if at the theatre! Looking forward to the film of Love Never Dies next year
