Great Film But Better In 2D

| | See all TheOrca's reviews (2)

This film was great, I watched it with my 15 year old daughter and we both really enjoyed it. Good cast and acting by all, I especially liked David Tennant.

However, I must say that I found the 3D too dark in the night time scenes and this being a vampire film there are quite a few of them.

Personally I think the 2D version is better, it's just much brighter and clearer, that's not to say the 3D elements aren't good, they are, but for me it's a better watch in 2D. Fortunately there is a 2D Blu Ray in the box as well .

It's a film I'll be watching more than once, and one I would definitely recommend, but I wouldn't buy it for the 3D.

I watched this with the family with fairly low expectations due to the over kill of vampire based movies currently on show. That said, this was indeed a great find, not what i was expecting, but, the mixture of great humour, simple plot and some pretty good effects make this an enjoyable experience for anyone just wanting to chill and not take anything too seriously.

  Very good.

This film is what a 3D horror film should be like. It has....jumpy moments, good acting from Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin and David Tennant, it has very entertaining moments...such as intense fight scenes good looking death's and the 3D is excellent with no black bars at the top and bottom of the screen that can really ruin the 3D experience for you. So if toy have a 3D TV I would really recommend it

I went the cinema in the 80's to watch the first one and it was and still is a fav of mine.well this version is there but not right there.the 3D effects are good and the story line is about 80% of the 80's version.

This movie is actually quite a gem of horror vampire remake, I was not expecting much of this movie but was pleasantly surprised to find it is brilliant, the story is quite different from the original in certain ways but still keeps most similarities, its a fun story thats well paced and has plenty of good action and very good performances from Colin Farell and David Tennant, its not mega gory or anything but does have its dose of blood and cool vampire effects, worth checking out for sure, great movie!!
