Anxious to explore the mysterious hidden world under metropolitan Berlin, an international group of four urban explorers hires a local guide, Kris, who leads them into the maze of escape tunnels and subterranean fortifications under the city. When their guide has a bad fall, two of the girls in the group frantically set off to seek help while Denis, the young American, stays behind. Armin, a former East German border guard suddenly appears from nowhere. Out of sheer desperation, Denis allows Armin to lead them and their unconscious guide to safety and it is at this moment that Denis realizes he has just made the biggest mistake of his life!

I'd seen the trailer for this film after looking into urban exploration and thought I'd give it a go. It was much better than expected and has a tense feeling throughout. It also has one of the most shocking and gruesome death scenes I've seen

Top 100 Music Reviewer

This one will have some viewers leaving early, simply because it doesn't get into the gore and action soon enough for their liking, but for those willing to sit through the build up,it pays off,in my opinion.
These explorers,a guy and his girlfriend, meet up with two other girls and a guy who promises them something special in this underground in Berlin. So off they go and after a while meet up with some trouble in the form of two rough looking guys and their dog,a little shaken up they carry on,then a badly timed photograph sees the leader take a nasty fall. The boy and his nurse girlfriend stay to look after him while the two other girls go to find help. This is where the crux of the film comes into it,as the two with the injured guy are joined by a creepy looking man (who gets creepier as the film goes on) who offers help, they take him up on it,assuming something's happened to the two girls. Bad idea!
So now the gore really starts up as we get a WOLF CREEK type feel going on,the bad guy is well played and the other actors are good enough for the roles they play. There are a few scenes to please those of us that like nasty moments in these type of horror films, you've just got to be patient and allow the tension to build before it gets to the pay off.
I certainly will be watching this again,i appreciated the build up,though it was a little slow for some and I do get that. This offers more of the same, but I only got what I expected so can't grumble, but it does offer some nicely done moments and leaves you with an ending that might surprise some.
Certainly is has faults, which some reviewers seem eager to point out,but don't most movies have faults and mistakes and yet are still loved by some, even classics, surely?
And there you have it,a somewhat rare happy viewer of this movie that would recommend it to gore fans who aren't too picky and are willing to wait for the nasty scenes. Go for it,it's worth exploring.
