A powerful and affecting award-winning drama from feature writer / director Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes), TYRANNOSAUR follows the story of two lonely, damaged people brought together by circumstance. Joseph (Peter Mullan) is an unemployed widower, drinker, and a man crippled by his own volatile temperament and furious anger. Hannah (Olivia Colman) is a Christian worker at a charity shop, a respectable woman who appears wholesome and happy. When the pair are brought together, Hannah appears as Joseph's potential saviour, someone who can temper his fury and offer him warmth, kindness and acceptance. As their story develops Hannah's own secrets are revealed - her relationship with husband James (Eddie Marsan) is violent and abusive - and as events spiral out of control, Joseph becomes her source of succour and comfort.

The best british film since Harry Brown

This film is very hard to watch in parts but at the same time is mesmerising. Although all the performances are great, Olivia Coleman is fantastic. This film explores the themes of all great stories: love, regret, despair and redemption.

 Powerful Stuff.

An excellent writer/directorial debut from the amazing Paddy Considine.
The two lead roles are some of the most powerful heartwrenching acting you will see.
I cannot stress enough as to how good this film is!

 British cinema at its best

With real grit and heart comes this powerhouse of a british drama. Superbly cast and fantastically directed. A little disturbing for some viewers due to extreme violence, but inkeeping with the story. A refreshing and gripping movie. Excellent.

 Deeply dark

Got this after buying 'Snowtown' as one of the reviewers said they were of the same ilk. A hardhitting disturbing film, that makes you think however crappy your life may sometimes seem theres always some poor sap worse off, the lead parts were excellently played 'Hannah, Olivia Colman' was brilliant, having only ever seen her in comedies before 'Peep show, Rev, Twenty twelve' seeing her in a serious role was amazing, her reaction to the threat in the charity shop was heart breaking. Domestic violence at its worst, comparable to 'Nil by mouth'.
