  Not bad

I enjoyed this, a real shame it wasn't picked up for a full series. The special effects were good, they do look better on blu ray than watching it on YouTube!

Shame this wasn't picked up for a series. Its a decent hour and half ride. Get a nice glimpse at the first Cylon war. The acting is decent enough, although the actor portraying Adama is kind of annoying to watch after a while. There's plenty of action throughout and the moment when Adama see's Galactica for the first time is a really nice little sequence. Bear MCcreary returns to score it. Once again he creates some fantastic music. The finale piece of music is particularly well made and was nice to hear again.

Picture quality of the Blu-ray is quite nice. Its grainy just as the series was. Got just over an hour of special features. Lots of deleted scenes which go on for about 30 mins and about 20 mins detailing how the visual effects were created. Which brings me to my next point.

I don't agree with the below review about poor special effects. They're nicely made and its all explained in the the special features regarding the detail the effort and time they put into them, and you can see it. If you're familiar with rendering and animation you can appreciate their efforts considering it was all done in house. Only gripe id say would be that there's too much lens flare. Other than that the CGI is very well done.

Its quite clear they had more plans for this, but it never got the chance to be fleshed out into a series. I would have loved for it to happen. Regardless of that this is enough for it to stand on its own. I doubt every fan will like it, but its worth watching.

Having been a fan of the new series was pleased to here about this and watched on Internet, throughout it all only see two cylons. Could of been so much better and poor story and special effects. Don't waste your money.
