Firstly, about the packaging. Before buying,i read all the negative reviews about it,but noticed a massive common thread - none of them had actually bought it! Comments such as "the packing has put me off buying" etc.So, i went ahead, and bought it.All i can say,is the packaging is superb.A strong box, inside of which are 2 coffee table styled books - 1962 -1981, and 1983 -2012 (there is a space for the Skyfall disc). The pages are made out of thick, strong card.So i am really glad i ignored the ill-informed negative reviews. As for the films themselves, well, i have quickly looked at them, the early ones in blu ray look absolutely fantastic - look as though they were shot yeaterday. Very happy with this purchase.

  Outstanding value!

I am a little confused by some of the reviews here! This may not be a very good idea if you already have half of the titles, but if you only have one or two, this is unbelievably good value. You are taliking about 4 quid per BluRay disc which is amazing!

The only negative I can find is that Quantum of Solace is not a multi region BluRay. The first 21 discs are regions A, B and C. However, Q of S is only region B. it was fine until we moved to Singapore (Region A) and now I have to buy a multi region BluRay player!

I would definitely recommend this purchase to any Bond fan.

  Bargain

22 films (23 discs) for under 90 pounds is a bargain in my view. The picture and sound quality is fantastic and nobody can complain with over 120 hours of special features.

The only downside is that the shape and size of the packaging is inconvenient to store in a collection of blu-rays, and the arrival of Skyfall will only make that more awkward (I won't be trading the case for the reserved slot in this collection). And the tight card slots seem like they could cause a problem with scratches after a few uses.

Ah Mr Bond, I've been expecting you!

Most peoples negative reviews towards this box set appear to be born from the fact that they are bemoaning it's late release.

Many have purchased these movies, of which all are not yet available individually, and as a result are now faced with wanting this set quite badly. Well that's no valid reason to downgrade your opinions.

I for one waited and am absolutely thrilled that I did. Having owned the Video and DVD box sets, it was always a frustration when the next installment arrived as it put my set out of date. This has been countered this time by being a 50 year celebration from 1962 to 2012. We are even provided an empty slot ready for "Skyfall", which I think is a fantastic touch.

Some bemoan the packaging but I have to say I think it's fantastic.

As for the movies themselves.......................WOW!!!!

MGM have granted each addition with an MPEG-4 AVC, 1080p transfer of unbelieveable quality. Each film is presented in it's original aspect ratio.

MGM have spared no expense on every installment with some of the most delicate restorations yet of old classic cinema.

The Lowry Process was utilised and the end result is nothing short of spectacular. I cannot detect any digital tomfoolery with the transfers what so ever. Extremely fine filmic grain in tact which is barely visible but guarantees incredible detail and sharpness.

I haven't witnessed any edge enhancement and subsequent haloing or Banding. The blacks are inky and strong and the detail harboured within them is also top drawer with fantastic delineation and no crushing.

Skin tones are accurate and real. The contrast is astonishing and the colour saturation is incredible. The vibrancy of the image is a wonder and is the single biggest improvement on previous releases.

Bravo MGM this is an amazing box set which is an absolute must for any Bond entusiast, even if you do own them individually.

At the price on offer you are looking at roughly 4 Pound a film.

This is a luxury I'll admit, but one worth every moneypenny, and remember it will only go up in price.

Staggering transfers, wonderfully packaged.

THESE DISCS ARE REFERENCE QUALITY.

Bond has never looked or sounded as good and will never look any better.

Fantastic blu ray transfers and great value

The picture and audio quality is top notch (apart from Goldeneye funnily enough which doesn't match the others) The older Bonds particularly look stunning. The packaging is actually very good, not flimsy at all and I prefer it to 22 plastic cases with (often) dodgy artwork. I only had a couple already on blu ray so the price is right as well at around four pounds each for demo worthy discs. Highly recommended

  Just Extremely Great

At first ,I did not accept the book shape. But later appreciated the great quality of picture and audio. Audio is much better than most single blue rays. All 22 movies are excellent with such a large quantity of exciting commentaries. .

Not sure why people were writing negative reviews before this boxset was even released.... Don't let them put you off from buying this!
The packaging is really good. Much better than I was expecting. And the book format in which the Blu Rays are kept, looks really good. For me though, the main selling point, (which isn't advertised in the product details), is that there is a space for Skyfall. That's what made me click purchase.

I haven't watched all of the films yet but I tested a few at random. The quality for Dr.No, considering how long ago it was made, is outstanding! The newer films, as you'd expect are top quality.
I couldn't recommend this product more! James Bond. In Blu-Ray, with a Skyfall slot at the ready, (which is the best Bond film I've seen in a long time). What you waiting for?!

  The Real Deal

After reading some reviews about packaging being poor I thought I would take the risk anyway because Bond on Blu Ray is the way to go! What a buy. The packaging is good, the films are great and there's a space for skyfall means you can add that to your box set when it comes out which is an amazing touch to a well thought boxset!
