2011's critical darling and Oscar winner is a wonderful reminder that such believed outdated techniques such as Black and White and silence can still create entertainment.
While I was slightly disappointed that the underlying story is very similar to the story of 'A Star is Born' as Jean Dujuardin's silent movie icon finds himself challenged not only by a beautiful new rising star in the charming Berenice Bejo but also the coming age of talkie's which will end the era of silent's.
But with great performances, beautiful old glamorous production design this is a good and entertaining film that can easily be enjoyed by all but is probably of even more interest to cinema buffs as well thanks to it's clear affection for old Hollywood as well.
