In Men in Black 3, Agents J [Will Smith] and K [Tommy Lee Jones] are back... in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him - secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K [Josh Brolin] to save his partner, the agency and the future of humankind.

Back in 1997 the first Men In Black came like a breath of fresh air, it was funny, smart, short and Smith and Jones were a brilliant combination. Five years later we were given Men In Black 2, that although had it's moments could not match the first. We have now waited ten years for the third and hopefully final film. This was a big summer tentpole movie for Sony and to be honest I expected more. The first thirty minutes you feel like it's just a re-hash Jones looks bored, Smith is as enthusiastic as ever and laughs to happen with his sarcastic excuses to the public for the aliens among us. But when Smith leaps back in time the movie does get better with Josh Brolin's bang on impression of Tommy Lee Jones it's just uncanny. It's the usual time paradox plot, but the inclusion of pop culture and icon's of the late 60's is very good and the film does entertain........ mostly.
For a second sequel set ten years apart from the last film you do expect allot more, it's just seems five years too late and what was cool in 1997 and 2002 just does not have the same impact to todays viewer.
I really do hope this is the final film as any more like this would tarnish the good name of the original. It's not bad, just unremarkable and no doubt if you loved parts one and two you'll definatly buy this. But for the casual viewer you'll wonder just what the fuss was all about.
See If You Like......
Men In Black
Men In Black 2.
Back To The Future Trilogy.
Butterfly Effect.
Wild, Wild West.

Roswell.
Dark Skies.

After reading previos reviews I was slightly put off buying this. But after watching it, I can only conclude the other reviewers were watching a different film. Can't wait for the 4th. Buy it, you wont be disapointed. 9 stars.

I think the best of the three

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and in my opinion it is the best of the three MIB films. What a great villain in BORIS THE ANIMAL. The three main characters were all fantastic, in particular Josh Brolins portrayal of TLJ. It had everything. It was funny, great story and genuine fun. Cracking picture in Blu ray, in particular when Will Smith travels back to the 60's. Very vibrant.

This one sat on the self a little too long.

It's great seeing The Men In Black back on the screen after so many years but there in lies the problem too. It's been so long since the second installment that people have pretty much lost interest. With all the big hitters coming out this year I think that this was completly over shadowed.

The film itself is average. And like the new American Pie, once the novelty of seeing these guys back together wears off you're left with a very mediocre film. It provides a bit of a back story into our heroes but that wasn't enough to save the film from a boring villain and average story.

Worth a watch if you're a fan but just don't let your expectations get too high. Sorry guys you were just about 8 years too late with this one!
