Back in town with a few hours to kill!

| | See all SECTION8's reviews (1336)

The things I learned from Taken 2 is that if you wear a shell suit, smoke, have five days worth of stubble and look like you belong on the Jeremy Kyle show, Liam Neeson will hunt you, find you and kill you! Let there be no doubt Liam Neson is a god among middle aged men. It's a shame that this un-needed follow-up is a bit lazy in comparison to the original. Neeson again is fantastic and hard as nails and the scene by navigation by grenades is brilliantly preposterous. It's a sad truth that there are very few ways to be kidnapped, and diminishing sets in fast. Content to throw a few stunt doubles around in some sub- Bourne action scenes Director Olivier Megaton brings as much streamlines panache and excitement he did with Transporter 3 and Colombiana, in other words very little.
The harder cut is far better than the watered down cert 12 cinema cut, and although the budget is much bigger than the first film, it carries little of what made the first such a classic guilty pleasure.
See if you like.....
Colombiana.
Transporter Trilogy.
Quantum of Solace.
The Bourne Legacy.

in the first film 'bryan mills' ( former c.i.a agent ) rescued his daughter who had been kidnapped by an 'albanian' gang.............in the process killing all involved.
the family's of those killed now seek revenge..............this time both daughter and his ex-wife become involved.
must admit i was dubious of how this one would link-up..................needn't have worried.
maybe not as polished as the first however.......great action, superb car-chase...............great entertaining watch.

  Just plain awful.

Don't get me wrong, i loved the first film but somehow they have taken everything viable and exciting about the first movie and removed it for the sequel.

I can barely express how disappointing this film is. Even the action sequences seem tired and poorly choreographed compared to the first. It feels like they've hashed this movie out as fast as possible and without any thought to capitalise on the success of its predecessor. It's a complete and total let down from start to finish.

You have been warned...

  VERY DISSAPOINTED..

after the big success of the first movie and all the chit chat of the second..
the movie company have sold them selves out and dropped the rating of this movie to maximize on there profits and buy doing this you are getting the same story but with a more family outing approach..so those actions scenes that made the first one so special have been toned down and the killer instinct that liam had in the first now looks like hes a back street brawler..you can also see that so much has been cut from nearly every action sequence that their will defo be a harder and much longer cut to come..
so my advice would be to hold out on this and wait for the proper version..

Awful. Like watching Jason bournes grandad running about turkey looking for his estranged wife. The fact that it panders to a 12a audience meant we saw no real action only jerky camera shots. No heart, poor production and awful direction. A true cash-in.
