They have done an amazing transfer to Blu ray , for a film made in the 80s it looks like a film made only a few years ago , sound and picture are crisp , good job .

This is indeed a little gem and what a worthy re-release this bluray edition is, absolutely packed to bursting point with bonus goodies any horror fan could possibly crave!! This is a bargain price too, return of the living dead is one of the most famous horror zombie movies ever made, a fantastic story with an electric cast to pull it off, a huge cocktail of blood and boobs too, this is a must for any fan.

Dan O'Bannon brings his wit to a brilliant zombie movie! It has guts, gore, girls and HUMOUR - a masterclass of comedy horror. As for the bonus content it has a 5 hours of bonus content that celebrates such a cult classic that is worth the pice of the Blu Ray alone. Excellent picture, sound quality and script by the man who brought you Dark Star and Alien.

Quite simply this film is amazing this version has everything that the MGM region A version did not. Its has the more brains doc running at 2 hours new features from the production designer and FX team an in depth look at the music of the film though sadly not the Trioxine theme.

After many emails we fans me included managed to get the original soundtrack ( not the Dan Obannon 2003 mix)

The acting on this film is fantastic its black humour so expect that kind of thing.

I bought part 3 on blu ray and sadly parts 4 and 5 ( oh dear) I even tracked down the dvd of part 2 with its original soundtrack.

If you have not seen this and youre a zombie fan PLEASE see it.

  DID YOU HIT THE BRAIN?

The Return Of The Living Dead has got to be one of the greatest Horror Comedies of the 80's. I first watched it as a teenager on video from word of mouth around my High School, then bought it on Video, then on the DVD and now on Blu Ray. Those who have never seen it and were brought up on the modern zombie films may wonder what all the fuss is about, but for us who relished every ghoulish minute as teenagers will love the retro feel. The film still is as funny now as back then, but it also has a tight script with "Brains!" and the make-up (especially the under used Tarman) is great. The film also boasts a fantastic punk soundtrack. This is a cult classic that stands the test of time well and is up there with Fright Night, Re-Animator and Evil Dead II as the best horrific fun of the 80's.
Why should you buy this over the original DVD version? it's because of the fantastic bonus features it offers. As although the picture quality is not quite as crisp as you would like this does not matter as it only adds to the retro feel of it all.
This was the first and by far the best of the series and a stone cold cult classic.
See if you like.....
Night Of The Living Dead.
Dawn Of The Dead.
Day Of The Dead.
Re-Animator.
Evil Dead Trilogy.
Fright Night (1985)

This film is ok. Reasonable. I'm only getting it due to the sheer volume of bonus material. Wow. ROTLD 3 is my favourite and I am glad it includes a feature on it. Why don't they just import this onto a special edition on Region B? Also, where's the audio commentary as with the US version? Anyone shed some light on this?
