A rather lengthy attempt to get under the skin of the Jamaican reggae superstar Bob Marley who died far too young from cancer at the age of 36 in 1981. While this documentary may largely be composed of a series of talking heads, the interviewees all knew Marley well and are able to contribute a well-rounded depiction of an often conflicted man. And of course his remarkable music legacy is not too much of a hindrance either.

The pace of the film is relatively slow but it builds into a very interesting documentary. At the end I felt a had learned a lot I didn't previously know and it is strangely uplifting.

Fantastic documentary - easily best out there on this legend

I could not disagree with the previous reviewer more. This is a fantstic documentary that I found gripping. What I loved about this is the fact that it deals with all sides of Bob's character and does not paint him out to be a saint or put him on a pedestal. What it shows us is that Bob was indeed a great man whose music has touched millions the world over but he had his faults -which to me makes him a man I can relate to. I would highly recommend this Blu Ray. Obviously the soundtrack is sensational. If you like Bob Marley you will love this. If you are unsure about or new to Bob Marley then I would say there is never a better opportunity to watch this and make your own decision. Enough going on whether you are a Bob lover or not. Fantastic release!

Not impressed, in fact I watched 15 minutes and decided to elbow it. I don't want a history lesson on slavery, I want his music and life. Very disappointed with this.
