This is a classic British film on the subject of football hooliganism and pre-dates the likes of Green Street and The Football Factory (it may even be the second on the subject, behind the original Channel 4 version of The Firm).
I bought this on Video, back in about 1995, which was in the 4:3 format. I then bought it on D.V.D. when it first got on to that format. The original D.V.D. was an improvement on the Video picture wise - but still in 4:3 format, so when I heard this was going to get a Blu Ray release I was really looking forward to owning this in (what I assumed would be) an upgraded picture standard, and in the widescreen format.
Unfortunately, although the sound is definitely improved, the picture seems like a downgrade, being that it seems to be flickery in large portions of the film (even using every visual noise reduction option my T.V. gives); also at a crucial part of the film towards the end (where the lead actor meets the people in charge) there seems to be some lost frames?
In summary , I'm very disappointed - next time I watch this, I'm gonna go back to the original D.V.D. version......
