Act of Valor - Best Modern War Movie

Heard allot of positive things about Act of Valor before I went to see it. Was wondering though how "real" Navy Seals can transform into professional actors for a major feature movie like this... after seeing it, I can come to two conclusions... firstly, Navy Seals really are "experts at becoming experts" and secondly they played "real" seals, not a "Charlie Sheehan Mockup" of what a Navy seal is in the mind of a Hollywood script writer... in essence, they played themselves...

I have to say, no war movie can truly depict in my view what happens in war, but this is by far the best mix of reality and acting that leans on the real life heroism of these guys for a story that kept me on the edge of my seat...

5 stars for an amazing war movie!!..

As good as it looked on the trailer.

Put simply, it's a movie for the first person shooter generation, even the scenes are set out like the levels of a game. However I think there is enough about this movie which would extend to the "neutral" as well.

Over all it's all very slick (aside from some of the acting) and the cinematography/production is top notch. At times it reminded me of Mann's Miami Vice in terms of realism and the feeling of being there too. As war movies go, it's not as epic as Saving Private Ryan but a hell of a lot more exciting and engaging than the likes of Hurt Locker.

i have seen this movie at the cinema and as many have pointed out acting isnt the strong point of this film the intensity and action that these heroes call a day in the life of is fabulous i salute everyone of them true heroes now we can see what these men must do true its no saving private ryan but it is a fabulous action movie portraying what heroes really are. now the down side will these people who compare this to call of duty shut up CoD is pure rubbish it even has a link to the greatest game made battlefield 3 for real shooter gamers if you cant play this then you play CoD for a sense of realism watch this movie for a sense of realism play Battlefield 3... PERIOD
