Just watched this great film in 3d and it didnt let me down.If your a fan of the movie and you own a 3D tv then you have to own this.Fantastic picture..........probrably the best i've seen pound for pound considering the movies age ,and although the 3d doesnt hit you in the face as such,it has great depth and drags you into the film and fully immerses you.3 hours plus of pure entertainment.Go on... treat yourself.
the 3D in this movie is fantastic,i love the fact that cameron takes the time with every detail with the 3D,he knows what to do with it unlike all these other 3D films out there.the transfer its self is sharp and such an improvement on the dvd,and the sound has such a punch to it,5.1 3D surround is deff needed.i cant count how many times ive seen this movie but i must say that the new 3D transfer took me emotionally deeper in to the film that it even has.well done cameron,as others say YOU ARE THE KING OF 3D.
When released back in 1997, Titanic was the most expensive film ever made. Looking back, it's easy to see why. The special effects, for the most part still look as fresh as they did originally and the 3D conversion (the best I've seen so far) adds a whole new level of depth and clarity to the film.
The story, while familiar now, still managed to keep me hooked all the way through, although I was glad that it was split over 2 discs as that gave me a good excuse for a 5 minute break (it's a long film).
If you're one of the few people who has yet to see Titanic this would be the best place to start. The 3D (as said above) is breath-taking and the surround sound is amazing and also adds to the experience. This is how films should be converted and bought to blu-ray.
I was and still am a huge fan of this film which is why I wasted no time in running to the shops to purchase it.
However although the picture is fantastic you do notice things that wasnt noticeable before, now it is easy to notice the digital effects while the camera is panning round the ship and the amount of splash you get when a huge liner speeds through the ocean. Saying that I could live with it but what I can't deal with having to change the disk half way through (please insert disk 2) before you all tell me that the data is too big for one disk with it being 3D, I know which is why I looked over the case before I bought it.
It kinds of kills the moment when your snuggled up to a loved one then as its gets gripping (please insert disk 2) so unsnuggle turn on the light to find disk 2 eject disk 1 then insert disk 2 then try to recapture the moment of watching a truly fantastic film.....the problem is you can't!!!
