In June of 1981 director Steven Spielberg and executive producer George Lucas introduced the world to Indiana Jones when the unforgettable Raiders of the Lost Ark debuted in cinemas. Exploding to instant acclaim, the film has now been carefully restored, alongside remastered versions of the archaeologist's other thrilling adventures-Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade and Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Prepare for excitement, adventure and snakes-why did it have to be snakes?

Supervised by director Steven Spielberg and renowned sound designer Ben Burtt, Raiders of the Lost Ark has been meticulously restored with careful attention to preserving the original look, sound and feel of the iconic film. The original negative was first scanned at 4K and then examined frame-by-frame so that any damage could be repaired.

The sound design was similarly preserved using Burtt's original master mix, which had been archived and unused since 1981. New stereo surrounds were created using the original music tracks and original effects recorded in stereo but used previously only in mono. In addition, the sub bass was redone entirely up to modern specifications and care was taken to improve dialogue and correct small technical flaws to create the most complete and highest quality version of the sound possible while retaining the director's vision. The result is an impeccable digital restoration that celebrates the film and its place in cinematic history.

Alongside this, for the first time ever on Blu-ray, Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom is presented in its uncut format 28 years after it was first released in cinemas. The original release was cut in 1984 in the UK to obtain a PG rating, however fans can now witness all the gory cut extras in all their glory.

The installments in the franchise have won a combined seven Academy Awards. Relive every heart-pounding thrill like never before as all four films arrive together, for the first time presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio accompanied by a collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes and new bonus features.

 Redressing The Balance....

1: At 59.99 this is the standard price at the moment, so Play is no more expensive than anywhere else (this is the limited box set, not the normal digipack).

2: Yes this set will include the fully uncut Temple of Doom - Has been reported on promo videos.

 No Sale Mr.Lucas.

Sorry Mr Lucas, but the fans have been asking for the classic 'Raiders' on Blu-Ray for years.
There is no way on earth I'm paying for the craptastic 'Temple of Doom', semi-ok 'Last Crusade' and the embarrassment of the fourth film (whos title I refuse to utter) - just to get my hands on 'Raiders'.
I note all of Lucas' work is very overpriced in comparison to other quadrilogy boxsets. I don't know why the RRP of both this and StarWars is nearly 60-quid when the both the 'Alien' and 'Lord of the Rings' as well as many other quadrilogys from other studios are under 40-quid.

Please bring out the films seperately on Blu-Ray as well, just as Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment did with the 'Aliens' films post-boxset release.
Sincerely, Raiders fan.

 Look good, sound great

Most people will have seen at least one Indiana Jones film at some point, whether that be at the cinema or the countless times they've been re-run on TV, you may wonder what's the point in buying them yet again.
Well firstly, they've never looked or sounded as good as they do here. The picture quality is stunning and the sound has really depth. The stories are as good they ever were and are just as enjoyable as the first time you watched them.
The limited edition package is good, and contains some nice keep sakes that just about make it worth the extra money.

Temple of Doom is a 12 and uncut!

Got it this morning. Great box, lots of nice little extras, i.e. Club Obi Wan matchbook in the box (Nice touch).
The blurays are great, picture quality is amazing, however the film grain is very obvious in some shots.
But more importantly, Temple of Doom has been re-rated, is now a 12, and fully uncut, heart ripping intact.
And its also worth a mention that the old documentary from the raiders laser disc is on here containing some fab on set footage.
