Made in 1984, The Company Of Wolves can still stand shoulder to shoulder with modern day horror such as The Descent and Dog Soldiers.
Set in a slightly skewed fairytale setting where monsters really do lurk in the shadows, it's an entertaining and thought provoking take on Red Riding Hood.
It's surprisingly visceral in places but if your expecting something akin to the gore of films like Hostel then you'll be disappointed.
This is 'engage your brain horror'. Infinately re-watchable and beautifully shot.
Highly recommended.
