I first saw this on DVD and thought it was a very good film.It was also my first blu-ray i bought and watched.
I remember seeing the menu come on for the first time and the clarity of that alone blew me away! I carnt stress any more how fantastic the film looks and sounds, Just like the reviews before me write how good it looks believe me they are not kidding!
The main story itself on the outside is quite a simple one but not far below the surface is a brilliant morality theme that becomes more evident as the film progresses.
I take my hat off to Mr Gibson for steering clear of Hollywood and casting unknowns, for this reason you carnt predict whats going to happen next. Can you imagine if the lead role was played by someone like Lou diamond Phillips or The Rock!
This to date is Mel Gibsons masterpiece and i will certainly be keeping my eye out for his next project.
Brilliant!
Stunning visuals and great acting.

I wasn't really axpecting much from old Mel but he's done a fantastic job. The detail of the jungle, make-up of the actors and costumes produced is imense.
A lot of effort has been put in to create a natural and realistic set (watch special features).
But.........it would have got 5 stars if it hadn't have been for a fight scene where one of the Mayan bad guys gets whacked in the head with a club/axe thing. It was like watching something filmed in the 80's , blood starts squirting from his head like a water pistol.
What Blue-Ray was made for...

This film is great and also one of the Blue-Rays that there is a big difference between the SD version and HD. Well worth a watch and the money.
Awesome!

This is one of the best films i've ever seen. Absoloutely mind-blowing stuff, as we've come to expect from Mel Gibson. Brilliant use of unknown authentic ethnic cast. Everything flows brilliantly and looks amazing. I bought this on DVD and thought it looked amazing like that but since have bought it on Blu-Ray and have to say WOW! Just looks and sounds unreal. A must have movie for any fan of modern cinema!
This is what Blu-Ray is all about

It took me a while to get around to seeing this film, and after seeing some good reviews about it I decided to 'take a chance' and get it on Blu-Ray. All I can say is WOW! If you are having friends round and you want to show them what HD is all about, this is the one. The scenes in the forest are just like looking out your window. The detail, the colour, its just so like being there. The story is great too, from the opening thrill of the hunt, the humour of the tribesman, the quiet before the storm of what is about to happen to them really involves you in their village life. And, don't worry too much about the subtitles, you hardly notice them. Great film, with an HD picture to die for!
You will not be disappointed!

This film completely blew me away. The detail, the colour, the depth, all truly amazing. Not usually a fan of subtitled films but the picture is so good and the story is such an epic that the subtitles don't detract from it in any way. Add it to your collection - NOW!!
literally this film needs no words

i am surprised its slipping down the chart! If you have bluray you should own this film! It is a brilliant story! Films with subtitles have to be! You could turn the sound off completely and you would still enjoy it! You will be in the jungle with this tribe, the thought they have put into the cinematography really pays off! If you dont own it then you should!
Awesome graphics awesome film!
