Top Gun (Blu-ray)

Without a doubt one of the best blu ray conversions I have seen.

There is no grain from start to finish. A perfect conversion.

This has to be my favourite film of the 80's it was good on standard dvd but on blu-ray it's just awesome the colours are rich & deep and the overall picture quality is crisper & sharper and if you have a really good home cinema system the sound is amazing throughout the film...

You can pick out so much more detail on blu-ray than the standard version so for me it's a must for any top gun fan.

IF YOUR A TOM CRUISE FAN THIS IS A MUST FOR THE BLU-RAY COLLECTION...

Watched this today, Audio is fantastic as others have said. However I found the picture to be excellent is daylight and general shots of the dogfights but i found i could see the pixles during afterburner and exhaust scenes, especially in the opening sequence. I don't mean this as a criticism, after all the film is from the 80's!

very good film full of complete cheese but still love it. Tom Cruise stars as the cocky pilot Maverick with his co-pilot Goose. And after another pilot quits they are sent to Top Gun which is a place for all the top pilots around. Watch them tackle new challenges and different pilots for the title as best pilot. Many more pilots will come in including Iceman, Slider, Viper and Jester. Top movie a must watch

I was dubious about buying this on Blu Ray, after all how can a 24 year old film transfer to this modern format?
Well, I went with the positive reviews on Play and boy am I pleased!
The transfer to Blu Ray really is excellent! I have the standard DVD as many of us probably do with it being such an iconic film, and playing them back to back its even more apparant what a difference Blu Ray makes. The opening scenes are a great way to showcase a big surround sound system and large screen telly!
Go on you know you want it ! !

It's very dissapointing...

Buy the blu-ray and he dont have Portuguese subtitle...

You all know it! The first movie that defined the term "blockbuster" and launched Tom Cruise's career.
It may lag behind modern films in special effects and action scenes, but, considering it's age, the movie is absolutely breathtaking. Plus, it really brings up fond memories and the 80s nostalgia!
As for the blu-ray version, the picture/sound quality is marvelous and a paradigm of how older movies should be done. Since I also own the DVD version, I can assure you that the differences are tremendous.
Definetely worth a buy and an essential purchase for any movie collection.

HD quality is Fantastic. I have just finished watching this and had to switch between the SD and HD versions on my two players. Although you dont need to do this to tell the difference it just makes the picture even more impressive. A few grainy Scences from possible Over/Under Exposure during filming and due to age of material but overall this is amazing. Defo worth the investment, this is a must for any HD/Top Gun fan. 98% of the HD quality is top notch. WOW..

Sound quality is BRILL !!!!! picture is better than the original dvd version film is a classic its must buy for any top gun fan !!!!
