the 'making of' is better than the feature.

Looks great on blu ray - stunning quality. However, the main feature is 'disney-fied'. The penguins are given human characteristics, Mammy penguin meets daddy penguin etc etc. To be honest though, a 1hour 20 minute film about penguins? My mind kept wondering. The making of was far better, and interesting.Although narrated by David Attenborough, this wasn't done by the BBC, and it shows.

 Definitley not BBC

We love penguins, we really enjoy what theyre up to. This movie is unfortunately a little dull and instead of being an interesting documentary about penguins it tries to get you to beleive were following the same penguin for the entire movie. penguins to look similar so its easily done. except for when cutting between clean and muddy penguins, then the illusion is shattered.

I think because of this it comes across as silly instead of heartwarming. It is possible to feel something for the struggle of penguins without putting an individual stamp on them.

Theres also a few bits that are unecesserily grim, i'm a big fan of the BBC docs and we all know about the food chain and how some penguins get eaten but there's no need to rub our faces in it.

The quality is overall pretty good but the penguins spend the entire movie just pottering around in what could be a muddy car park.
