Definitely one of the best action movies of the 80s - and there were a lot of them too!

In the annals of action movies few can compare with Mad Max 2, a full-throttle epic of speed and carnage that rockets you into a dreamlike landscape where the post-nuclear future meets the mythological past. More simply, it's also one of the most mind-blowing stunt movies ever made.

Max the heroic loner who drives the roads of outback Australia in an unending search for gasoline. Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defenders of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by the Humungus, notorious for never taking prisoners when they can pulverise them instead.

When the battle is joined, the results are savage, spectacular and with Mad Max 2 on your side, screen action doesn't get any better.

 Excellent Film Just Got better

I love this film as it was but having watched the Bluray version last night I have to say the picture is amazing. Never been one to buy films but I'm starting a collection as they are that good. Was dubious about older films not living up to some of the newer releases but having watched this they have been banished. Well worth the money!!!

 Brilliant!

I'm a massive Mad Max fan and Road Warrior is my favourite. After having been disappointed (or under whelmed) with the transfers for Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Pans Labyrinth I wasn't very optimistic about this but boy was i proven wrong.

The picture is amazing and extremely better than the DVD. You can actually see the fly's zooming around and sitting on his face and the colours are really vibrant. There are a few occasions where the quality drops a little but over all it's amazing.

This was the best HD transfer in my significant Blu Ray collection until i got 'Ratatouille' the other day. It won't fail to impress.

 Outstanding in 1080P!

This is one of the few Blu-ray titles that I own, and was initially worried about how the HD transfer would look in true 1080p. They're quite a few Blu-rays out there claiming to be full 1080p transfers, but are blatantly 576i upscaled to 1080p. If you have a true full HD TV, the shortcomings of these are quickly exposed, since basically, they look rubbish. I'm happy to say, however, that Mad Max 2 isn't one of them.

I have yet to see a better transfer of a old film from an early Blu-Ray release as clear as this one. It's breathakingly clean and bold on Blu-ray, and watching Mel Gibson in superb form waaaaay before his Passion of the Grim phase was actually strangely nostalgic! I just can't believe that this was directed by the same guy who did "Babe!"

 Looking good

This is still an influential action movie, clearly making the most of its limited budget to tell its crackerjack tale. Gibson looks lean and mean (and probably averages about 50 words throughout the whole movie) and director Miller gets some pounding action on screen. And in its Blu-ray transfer, it looks immaculate. The film's low budget probably shows up more in its sound design which is highly erratic at times, favouring Brian May's bombastic score over some quality sound effects.

 Cult movie!

As many know this is a masterpiece. The picture quality is a lot better than the DVD, but I have seen better from other films. The sound i still a little bit week.
