Face/Off (Blu-ray)

Trippy concept, expertly executed by Cast and Director.
This movie came out during the Peak of Modern Action Movies in the late 90s with the likes of The Rock, Con Air and Armageddon.
And this is one is just Brilliant. Nicolas Cage is awesome as the Bad Guy and OK as the Good Guy.
Travolta is a revelation as the Bad Guy, enjoying himself to the Max, and is effective as the Good Guy.
This is director John Woo's Best American film (he also directed Broken Arrow, Hard Target, Mission Impossible 2).
This is a terrific Boys movie, Bad Action, Bad Boys, and a Bad Attitude.
A Must Have for every action fan.

I'm a big fan of this film and am very pleased to have got rid of the "flipper" two-sided DVD version. It's a good reason to buy it on blu-ray in itself.

Transfer is great, but this is one HD release that really could have done with a bit of digital airbrushing. Watching it at 1080p on a 40" TV, the wires on the stuntmen are obvious in almost every scene. In places you can see the stuntmens' faces with such clarity that you have to remind yourself they are supposed to be Travolta and Cage.

For that I knocked off a star. If there's a Special Edition where they tidy up those sorts of distractions, I'll give it 5.

Totally ridiculous story but still enjoyable, mr woos best work is behind him in Hong kong.

i had not seen this since it was first released, so jumped at the chance to watch it again on blue ray, its still great, full of fighting and explosions and nicholas cage and john travolta was made for this film.

Entertainment is top notch,full on action film that look's and sound's great on Blu-ray.
