Well i am not personally one to re-buy films i already own on standard DVD, for the sake of quality.
However, this set is truely superb! The Quality is amazing running on my PS3 through HD-TV. You can see actors blemishes, and generally feels better than it did ever at the cinema!
Spiderman 1:
I must have seen this film about ten times! Amazingly, i watched this version and it was like watching a new movie! The quality and sound effects are great. The bridge scence when 'Spiderman chooses' is great! slow mo shot in Blu Ray.
So even if you have saw it many times before, it feels like a different movie.
Spiderman 2
Saw this one last night and of course with more SFX, it was always going to be better! Quality awesome.
Most importantly it comes with BOTH Spiderman 2 (cinema version) and Spiderman 2.1.
For those not seen 2.1, the move adds about 18 minutes which was cut out the cinema version. The areas it adds is the discussion between Harry and Peter at his birthday about Spiderman, the movie dialouge suggests that there is no friendship between Peter and Harry, however this paints a whole different picture. Secondly, MJ describes the reasons for marrying - something the movie did not explain at all! Other areas are SFX and fight scenes. I dont understand why the areas were cut out, it makes the film massively better and explains more plot!
Spiderman 3
Well SFX again aplenty, and thats about it. A typical high spec blockbuster. Will blow you away again.
My only complaint was extras, as Blu-Ray Spiderman 3 does include an additional disc full of extras. HOWEVER unlike the standard DVD edtions Spiderman 1 & 2 do not come with anything except some movie trailers. They could have done better with the extras!
So, well worth your money in my opinion. If you want a reason to re- buy = Quality. Secondly if you havent saw Spiderman 2.1, then this is really a must-buy.
