Review

Resident Evil: Extinction is based on the wildly popular video game series and picks up where the last film left off...

Alice (Milla Jovovich), now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps), along with new survivors Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke) and Nurse Betty (Ashanti), to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive...

This is was the first blue ray film i brought and i was impressed by the quality of the film.Even though this is the 3rd film in the set it still has me waiting for them to release the 4th one. A must if you like zombie films. The only crisitism is that there isnt enough zombie action.

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Extinction is the best of the 3 Resident Evil films just!

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

Resident Evil: Extinction is an big improvement on the 2nd film and on par with the 1st one or maybe just a little bit better, which I am pleased to say as I am a massive fan of the games. Milla Jovovich is fantastic at action films and proved this in the most excellent si-fi film called Fifth Element which must have got her the role for the Resident Evil films. The World has become a vast desert because of the T- Virus which gives the film a Mad Max feel. At one point in this zombie road trip film are heros get attacked by crows which is a nice little nod to an old classic called The Birds. Milla Jovovich has developed Jedi type powers and looks dead sexy when she kicks butt. All in all if you like action horror with a bit si-fi thrown in then you will enjoy this film its good fun but not great. The Blu-Ray transfar overall is good but not the best I have seen and, Resident Evil 4 the game is a PS2 classic the films can't touch that game in terms of quality.

For those of you who have seen the original Day of the Dead, this film is going to seem very familiar to you, and probably strike you as a rip off in many ways. There is a bit of Mad Max thrown in, the cloning element is back, and so are the zombies, or Paul WS Anderson's idea of them anyway...
Anderson claims he wanted to keep things fresh and original, nothing of that here, except the picture in picture commentary, which is not bad. All in all, buy second hand if you want to test your player to see if it can do Profile 1.1, and then get rid of it. As for Paul WS Anderson, he should take up writing classes.
