I just love this movie, and in HD, and with extras, even better! There is no way this movie could be even better, it has it all! and seeing your favourite characters on screen, it's really quite something. The score is all there also, and the extra content, develops further on the history.

Worth Buying even if you already own the DVD version

I instantly bought the original DVD version - I loved it, but when I heard this was being released, I preordered it straight away, and I think it's one of the best purchases I have ever made! I am a Final Fantasy fan but even if your not, the visuals are so wonderful and detailed, you cannot go wrong - especially since play.com now have it for a mere 7.99!!! BUY IT

 Amazing

The picture quality is excellent, i compared the dvd to bluray and it looked so bad, like some old vhs tape, not sure if this bluray has been enhanced but the detail is superb, buildings, people, blades are so sharp, well worth the 7.99 i paid

Great to test out your HD kit.

This has the best picture quality ive ever seen,
but the story line is such a let down,
im a fan of the games too, and i found it disapointing.

As somebody else said if it was aimed at a higher aged audience i think it would have improved, but without knowledge of the game you are at a disadvantage and will most likely be left confused, and if you know of the great games, you may be very disapointed as i was.

I got it at 7.99 and im so glad i waited for it to be on sale to take the gamble, but i feel it didn't pay off. 2/5 from me mainly based on the effort put into the amazing animation.

I'm a huge FF Fan and found the movie very slow to start with but did pick up through the movie.
The only thing I thought let the movie down was most of the characters were only in it for short periods, would have been nice to see barrett, vincent etc to be in the film more.
also would have like to see the more materia used and more summons like ifrit etc.
apart from these little things I really did love the film

I havent played any of the old FF games but I will say that the story in this is pretty easy to pick up. If you also have a HDD tv your lucky because I have never seen a film look so BEAUTIFUL in HD! Worth the money and worth a watch!

Amazing quality and greatly improved storyline!

I have both the DVD and bluray versions of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and I have to say that there's a huge difference between them. Putting aside the bluray image and sound quality I have to admit that the new scenes really enlightened me about various aspects of the storyline I didn't grasp with the DVD version.
I'm a big fan of FFVII and all the games linked to it but I'm sure that even people new to the serie would really appreciate this "clearer" version of the movie.

The only aspect I didn't like is that the subtitles aren't really truthful, watching the movie with japanese audio and english subtitles I noticed a lot of weird word choices that completely changed the meaning of some dialogues. However this won't ruin the overall experience :D
