Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

I can't agree with the chap who said this movie is "redicilous". I liked it. And the guy who said he "highly reccomends it", I agree, I found it quite entertaining. Finally, I'm on the side of the chap who said he would "definately watch it again".
A movie with a no-brainer of a plot, lots of good action and stylishly filmed. It won't be winning many awards but it's one I'm glad to have in my collection.
Now to spell-check this thing...
redicilous

300 is a great adaptation of the Battle of Thermopylae. The story is simple but the action scenes are excellently put together. A lot has been made of Snyder's visual style, but I agree that it works excellently with this film.
The blu-ray version is a good transfer but not quite as high as I had expected.
There are quite a few extras on the disk too which give some interesting insights of the characters in the film and also the Spartans in general.
I managed to pick this up for £9.99 which was a bargain.
Overall I would highly reccomend this to anyone who does not yet own it on DVD and/or wants to bolster their blu-ray collection.
