Queen proving their Kings of like performance

Being a big Queen fan and also a lover of vinyl , i have been pretty unimpressed with DVD releases. having recently built a "Man Cave" complete with a 1200watt 7.2 surround system and 50inch tv , I went on the prowl to relive my youth with some decent Blu-Ray Discs and Audio. If every disc in my collection were stolen or destroyed , the loss of this one would be my biggest loss. Having watched it three times today , it is to get a fourth showing tomorrow. Queen were the definitive band on stage and this disc shows that off. The quality of the picture needs to be seen. You can see every drip of swet as Freddie pours his heart and soul into every song. you can see the name of the mic, you can see the laquer on freddies belt glistening and above all you have to pinch yourself to believe this is a 33yr old film that has been put onto Blu Ray.

Then comes the sound. The sound is perfectly synched to the film. Every close up drum beat is spot on , every high and low cord on Mays guitar is crystal clear. The balance is clear across the front channels and the rears pull you into a 1970s rock concert that is one of the greatest of all time.

I appreciate that this disc was watched on a top of the range system so I played it without the sound system. I must say that the sound is equally impressive through my 50in Toshiba but without the surround. Buy this now as one day you will have the technology to fully appreciate.

One of the biggest and greatest bands ever to live. I have this on VHS but nowadays it can't be played. Bought this and was amazed at the picture quality. If you have a cinema sound system then you can listen to it in DTS HD audio. Like others have said the only down side is the Live Aid footage is in standard definition.

So load this up, crank up the volume and annoy the neighbours!

  Queen still rock !

Ditto to most of the other reviews. Fantastic quality considering the age of the film. Great care seems to have been taken to restore the picture quality, while, not perfect, is still very, very good. Also great to see the Live Aid footage. Even though its not HD-still good to see. Really does showcase what a fantastic band Queen were.

  Masterpiece of a blu ray

The concert: This live performance is one of the best i have ever seen.

Picture quality: Outstanding quality for its age. It looks awsome.

Sound/audio: Great sound, this is probably my all time fave blu ray.

Much like Metallicas Cunning Stunts was the Music DVD for years. This takes the music Blu Ray title.
Filmed in a widescreen format with hi quality equipment this does show in the end result.
The concert was out for years on VHS as We Will Rock You, that VHS was a shoddy version. This disk has been remasterd to a crisp and blinding quality. All frills and no spills, great sound and picture.
This concert documents the last time the band appear as a four piece band. Extra musicans help from now on.
Amazing restoration on the sound and video make a truely stunning concert. DTS and stereo is offered with the Stereo track showing fantastic results.

Was really looking forward to this Blue Ray and wasn't disappointed. Great sound and great picture. Well worth buying. One word of caution: the Live Aid section of the DVD does not appear to be Blue Ray quality if anyone is buying it for that amazing concert alone. Hence why it got 4 instead of 5*.

Awesome - great concert and great transfer given age of concert. A few poorer shots but well understandable.

If you like queen then this is a must.

Stick this on - ramp up your sound ....... Rock and Roll at its best :)

  a must have

I haven't seen alot of HD concerts, but this is by far and away the best one. not just musically, but production wise as well. the image is superb (shot on 70 mm film) and the sound is excellent. it's like having the best band in the world, in your living room
