Resident Evil: 1-4 Box Set (Blu-ray)

All these movies were trashed by critics, but that did not stop them from being fan favorites around the planet that rang box-office tills and spawned now up to four sequels and counting. So there's no better time to release the quadrilogy to tie in with the cinematic release of Res 5.
Resident Evil (2002)
The virus escape and zombies and mutants and not forgetting a computer that has a full on psychotic episode that puts HAL to shame take over the underground HQ of the dodgy Umberella Corp. Alice (Milla Jovovich) and a crack team of commando types go in to eradicate the problem. It's very flashy and Director Paul WS Anderson did great with his limited budget. Nice splashes of gore, run of the mill moany groany Zombies and the pace is fast. The story doesn't make much sense and the tension lacks, but it's still very emjoyable.

Resident Evil Apocalypse (2004)
The virus goes global and picks up directly where the first one ended. It's more of the same on a bigger scale. The acting in this is truly dreadful, big stuntman in rubber suit doesn't help, but when it pulls out all the stops in the flashy visuals you gotta appreciate it in some way.

Resident Evil Extinction (2007)
The worlds gone all Mad Max, the umberella corp are messing with super zombies and it all ends up in a wasted Vagas showdown. Yep it's more of the same, but it's a step in the right direction from the second film, again it makes little sense and the computer games it's based on has better acting and scripting, but it rattles along and is more enjoyable than it should be.

Shot in 3D the opening rain drenched title sequence is outstanding.
Then it goes all Matrix as hundreds of cloned Alice's assault the Umberella Corp HQ in Tokyo. The film then settles down as the survivors from the third film re-team and hold off the Zombie onslaught from inside a prison. Paul WS Anderson returns to directing duties and like the others the film is more entertaining than it has any right to be. Great visuals, better gouls and mutants and ahead scratching ending that leaves us to Res 5.

I'm not going to make out he films are anything more than trashy fun, but for a series that is so mentaly unstable, no idea what direction it's going in, loves style over substance. They are all great fun and best washed down with a few tins.
It get's a higher overal mark due to the amount of bonus featurs and the great value for money.

'umbrella medical' develop what is suposed to be a ''weapon'' a military experiment which goes badly wrong due to a computer over-ride.
the virus that has escaped creates 'walking dead'
those not affected face ever increasing odds in the battle for survival.
is there a safe-haven to be found ? ----or is 'all hope gone'
great, entertaining action packed series in which 'milla jovovich' excells in the role of 'alice'

like or hate these films for this price 4 films COME ON!! and milla jovovich and michelle rodriguez in HD !! its a must !
