In the long anticipated film, The Simpsons Movie finds the fate of Springfield - the suburban setting that has been home to The Simpsons clan for more than 18 years - hanging in the balance when Homer and his new pet pig inadvertently cause a major ecological disaster in their hometown. Forced to flee, it is up to the paunchy patriarch to save his family, the Springfield community and possibly, the world.

 Truly awesome!!

What an awesome movie. This is simply the Simpsons at their greatest! You'll absolutely laugh your head off. Spider pig is a true Homerism and the funniest thing I've seen for a long time. I've even bought the T-shirt and the song's so catchy you'll be singing it all day! AWESOME

 Disappointing quality

I would seriously consider buying the DVD version if you want the film and your TV is less than 50"/1080p. I paid twice as much for the blu-ray version expecting the image to be very crisp with sharp black lines. In reality, the picture has been noticeably sharpened with halos (sharpening artifacts) clearly visible around all the black lines, even then the picture is soft. Ironically, the Futurama trailer (also on the disc) exhibits the sort of quality that I would have expected from the main feature - pin sharp visuals with no sharping artifacts.

As far as features are concerned, I don't think Blu-ray offers anything over the DVD. There is no main menu, only a popup menu so the disc launches straight into the film whether you are ready or not. I know it's down to personal preference but I've got one or two other discs like this and it bugs me.

So, if you have a big screen and don't mind spending the extra money, get the blu-ray. The picture quality is still better than DVD, just don't expect to be blown away by the quality. If in any doubt I would suggest you save your hard earned cash and go for the DVD.

 A Let Down

This film has it's moments but as much as it pains me to say just isn't much cop. After the wait and all the hype what we are left with is an extra long episode of The Simpsons - whats the point? For how much this blu-ray costs you could buy a season of the show.

 A Simpsons Must Have..!!

An absolutely amazing film with fantastic humor, I went to the cinema to watch this and cant wait to get it on blu ray for maximum high definition..!! Bring on number 2.!!
