  DON'T MISS THIS TRAIN!

This has to be one of the best westerns since The Unforgiven. Also not forgetting that this is also a outstanding remake of the old 50's western. Crowe and Bale are amazing as the leads, but it would be a crime to forget Ben Foster (30Days Of Night) as the head bad guy, who gives another chilling performance and steals almost every scene , he is without a doubt a great actor but now seems type-cast as the psycho, edgy-one or just plain nutter after later films. The story is great highnoon kind of stuff and makes you realize what made the westerns great. I'm not the biggest western fan, but this film had me gripped.
A suprising and very exciting western that is worth up-grading your DVD version for to the Blu Ray.
One to watch for every western fan.

Tombstone.
Young Guns 1 & 2.

For Fans of Westerns - Crowe and Bale

Was really looking forward to seeing Russell Crowe facing off against the very talented Christian Bale, and that was the aspect of the movie that mad it enjoyable, beyond that tho the whole affair was standard. Defo for Fans of the above mentioned in the title.
Best western this director has made so far is the UNDER-RATED CLASSIC "Copland" (Stallone - De Niro - Kietel and Liotta )which is a Westen set in the modern day with a brilliant lead performance from Sylvester Stallone
Buy that.

Quality Cast, Quality Story, Quality Price!

Now, the first thing I have to say is: Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Ben Foster; in an epic Western for 6.99? Where else could you possibly find a better bargain for the array of acting ability in a film? Performances from all the main characters are pretty breathtaking at times and once again Ben Foster manages to pull off the bad guy persona impeccably.

The properties that a Blu-ray Disc offers just put the icing on the cake: with outstanding sound (especially during firefights) and dazzling picture qualities placing you as close to the action as possible.

Although constantly compelling, for me the movie just didnt do that much dissimilar from many other Westerns and as a result this film only gets a solid four star rating from me.

Hope this was helpful!

  Top Quality Sound

I watched this movie with 5.1 surround sound, and it is fantastic. The sounds are so crisp and clear and you can hear almost every detail (every little glass break, or rock rolling and the direction it came from). This movie also supports 7.1 surround sound, so I cant even imagine how much better than can be. The movie itself is good, with a good story and great action sequences.
