Shoot 'Em Up (Blu-ray)

i have just watched this (but not on blu ray) and it really blew me away!! its non stop action from start to finish. the story of a gunman looking after a baby the mob wants to kill is great and really engages the viewer.

with over the top.. hang on strike that... with WAY over the top action and scenes that are laugh out loud funny, this will keep anyone entertained for the 90 mins its on for.

a must for all action fans and my wife even enjoyed it too, a action packed LOL funny film, give it a go, you wont be dissapointed, i promis!!

Think of this movie as a Playstation game - each set piece is like the level of a game. You know where it starts, and you know how it is going to end... How you get there, that is the fun part!! No one moans about how predictable Tomb Raider is or how clumsy the shooting is in the latest Halo offering...

This film knows it isn't going to win an oscar, it knows it will not be remembered 10 years down the line in the same conversations as Raging Bull, Taxi Driver etc but my god, like a cheap date, it knows how to show you a good time which will leave you wanting more!!

Check your brain at the door, get your pop corn and turn the sound up!

I for one am a fan of this film and you will be too if you give it a chance... 8/10 for having the audassity to be this fun!

You know how when you smile to yourself when something really, really cool happens? I was like that all the way through this film! Ignore everyone who says the storyline is pretty weak, or the action is unbelievable; bare in mind that the director just wanted to show you gun fights after gun fights, and thats what he does! Besides, even a terrible plot couldn't distract you from Clive Owen's excellent performance in this film!

Now I'm not a big film critic but I do like a good film: and this is not it! I know it's not supposed to be taken seriously and it's all tongue in cheek, but at least the acting could've been a little more credible. It's pretty dire from start to end. Even worse - this was my first Blue-ray purchase and I feel cheated. On the up side the picture quality and sound blew me away.

This should have been such a good film. The set-pieces are cleverly thought out and inventive. And it has a vicious streak of dark humour running through it. Unfortunately it's directed with absolutely zero flair or style. The majority of the stunts and gags look cheap, and as a film that sells itself purely on the visceral action thrills, it has nothing else to fall back on.
