Very good film, maybe buy dvd than blu ray disc?

First of all the movie, great acting peformance from Brad Pitt, very intense performance. The movie requires a lot of attention to pick up all the talking that goes on and the storys that are told. this film is not an action movie, its a drama, so there are no major gun fights etc.

In respect of blu ray, although it looks good, this type of film does not do it justice, nice backgroaunds etc, but nothing that will give you the wow factor.
I would recommend this film, but on dvd, then use your dvd upscaler to bring the picture up. for this type of movie it will be cheaper but still effective.

i hope this helps

Thanks

  Great Film....But Not For Everyone

This is an outstanding film. Superb director, Oscar-worthy acting and a thoroughly compelling storyline. However, this film contains very little action and is fundamentally a character examination of Jesse James and Robert Ford. Although the main storyline is obvious due to the title, the process of how we get there makes the film stand out. Highly recommended. The Blu-Ray transfer is not as good as some other films but is still significantly better than the stand-alone DVD version

Poor HD Transfer for Good Movie.

If you are after constant action and explosions then you are in the wrong place! This movie is a great story of the relationship between a band of low lifes and how ultimatly they all double-cross each other, with both Pitt and Afflick giving solid proformances.
Its just a shame that the Transfer is not as good as the movie. Watching this movie in 1080Pp/24fps on my 50"" Plaz, there was plenty of picture noise and some darker scenes lacked a little detail. Better than the DVD but just not as good as BD should offer.

The western is alive and well, unlike Jesse!!!

This is a fantastic film and although not the best hi-def transfer around (see ratatouille or Zodiac directors Cut) is still a great picture and much better than the dvd. Don't be put off by the running time this may not be an action fest but it is a beautifully told and shot film, with outstanding direction, cinematography and performances.

Absolutely gorgeous looking movie. The cinematography is possibly the finest I've seen in any film.

Casey Affleck is by far the star of this. He puts in a stunning performance. You don't know whether to be sympathetic or freaked out by his creepy portrayal.

This is a must if you've got a good full Hd telly and a good player. the scenery in this movie will show off your telly to a lot of jealous persons as it's filmed in winter nad you can see all the individual flakes and allsorts. The story is interesting and it lifts the lid on one of the oldest American legends...and presents an alternative take on the myth of celebrity. By the way you can see how bad Brad Pitt's skin really is in some of his close ups. I'm sure he's crying about that for every time he gets a chaque for $20m and forcing himself to wake up next to Angeilina Jolie!! As i said, a great movie.
