From the animation studio that brought you The Animatrix comes this visually-stunning new anime film based on a popular Japanese manga written by Taiyo Matsumoto. In Treasure Town, where the moon smiles and young boys can fly, life can be both gentle and brutal. This is never truer than for our heroes, Black and White, two street urchins who watch over the city, doing battle with an array of old-world Yakuza and alien assassins vying to rule the decaying metropolis.

I bought this and Paprika as my first two Blu-Ray movies ever. I'm not a fan of Anime at all but after this film I'll definitely seek out a few others.

Tekkonkinkreet is a piece of art, everything seems to be done to perfection, the story is emotional and touching, yet it has enough action to keep anyone satisfied. The animation is beautiful, I was sat watching this film amazed at every second wondering how they made it look so good!

This films a definite keeper and I'll be sure to watch it many many times more, I'm sure it'll appeal to watchers of all ages, even family viewing, just be wary of some of the violence in it. ;)

10/10 for everything, I can't fault anything in this film! The soundtrack is pretty special too!

 Better than u think

Excellent, great animation and a beautiful script. Only the great movies of Hayao Miyazaki or Michel Ocelot are in the same level.

A must-have DVD or Blu-ray disc.

 Dont expect too much

I bought this title based on the reviews I had read about it on this site. I must admit I hadn't heard anything about this movie previousley but I was expecting something which will push my Blu-Ray and High-Def telly to the limits.. I'm sorry to say I was a little dissapointed. I do enjoy Manga like Akira and Guyver but I just couldn't get into this movie. The story seems a little bit staggered almost as though there are scenes missing and at times it goes off in all directions. I'm probably going to get slagged off now by other reviewers, but I'm just being honest. I thought the picture was standard DVD quality, the story very poor and the animation very 90's. I won't be showing off my telly and Blu-Ray with this film to my mates any time soon thats for sure!!!
I have Appleseed on standard definition, and would recommend you get that instead... Now thats a good movie... I will be getting that on Blu-Ray at some point so expect an honest review of that too!

 A great film!!!

I really enjoyed this film, anyone who loves animation should give this film try. The characters are scripted with humor and the japanese voice acting was spot on. The animation is unique and gives the film an inspirational style, with great perspective in a unique world that hosts some great action sequences. The blu-ray enhances it to a really crisp level of detail. I really recommend it.

 Go ahead, buy it!
