Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen.

If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favourites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes The Cabin In The Woods, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.

Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.

 Horror Comedy with a difference

Totally enjoyed this film. Not just a horror film. Lots of gore, great comedy, great acting with excellent writing. With Joss Whedon involved what would you expect? Reminded me a bit of Thirteen Ghosts. Some people won't like it, but I did and I would highly recommend it.

 One hell of a cabin

CITW is something fresh and not the usual stalk and slash, serial killer, been done before job. A little tongue in cheek in places and a great job by all the cast.

In all honesty it reminded me of a Scooby Doo movie for adults but with a shed load of gore. Five teenagers - a bimbo, a jock, a dope head, a virgin and a brainbox, - are stalked in the woods. All that was missing was a cartoon dog (and no need for Scrappy Doo, there is a little girl with an evil swing).

Sounds predictable but alot like Tucker and Dale vs Evil it flips the genre on its head, the action goes overboard and turns into a groundbreaking horror movie.

You can't say much more without giving the plot away.

You'll either love it or hate it but you have to watch it to decide. I loved it.

A great new take on horror

I enjoyed this film a lot, I was expecting a bog standard horror film, but this delivered a much more interesting plot which keeps you guessing the whole way though.

1 star is half a star too much.

Good premise. At as some points, there seem to be interesting moments.Ones to make me continue to watch. That and the point of thinking it could only get better. It didn't, on all points. It just got more stupid, until it got utterly ridiculous. It left me wondering just what Sigorney Weaver was thinking to agree to star in this rubbish.,Mind, she did also do the truly awful 'Paul', so she must be on a losing streak at the moment,as far as her career goes.Just avoid this.

 Don't believe the critics reviews...

I was looking forward to buying this film after reading all the reviews for it. In England there ended up being a fault with the first batch of Blu-Rays released so they were took off shelf, my mate bought the DVD version so I watched it with him and my god am I glad I didn't waste money on this, it's kinda like the Truman show with zombies but there is no twist at the end. I thought there would be but nope!!! I'll still give it 2 stars because its watchable but it's nowhere near as good as I'd heard it should of been
