The important thing for me is that my 5 year old son loved this film, though some scenes with the bear are quite scary for young children. I didn't find it as fun for me as an adult as some other Pixar films but still enjoyed watching it.
My gripe is that although we'd like the all singing Blu ray and Blu ray 3D version, we also prefer companies that include a DVD version as our son likes to watch DVDs in the car. At this price it is a small thing to ask and likely to sway us to buy the DVD version instead!
disney/pixar movies continue to flourish with picture perfection advancing in quality all the time, this film surely 'set' to become an all-time family favourite during the years to come ( allready is with one or two young family members )
'king fergus' and 'queen elinor' invite suitors to compete for the hand of daughter 'merida'
young 'merida' isn't ready to commit in this way.
whilst out in the forest she stumbles upon a 'witches' cottage after following wisp's.
'merida' agree's to buy all the 'witche's' carved models if the 'witch' gives her a spell to use on her mother, hoping to change the queens mind about the suitors.
the spell turns her mother into a bear, not what 'merida' had in mind.
'merida' has but a short time to reverse the spell before it becomes permanent.
this is truly a superb family movie following in the great tradition of the 'disney' studio's.
extraordinary computer animation quality........;a must see.
The US version has a five disc set including a digital copy and DVD but why do we get to be second class citizens with this inferior set?
I really love this movie and want the digital copy so I can't understand why the US fans can be catered for but those in the country that the movie is set cannot?
They should have released the movie at the same time and had one region free set so that fans could decide what version they wanted
I enjoyed this movie in 3D t the cinema, the 3D was superb. The story wanders a bit, not surprising when you think the first director was fired, but overall it's OK. However, Disney are just pricing themselves out of the market. I for one refuse to buy the 3D version at this price...
