The Bourne Legacy introduces a brand new hero Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) - an agent on the run from destruction and on a journey to discover the truth, in life-or-death stakes created by events of the first three Bourne Films. I've seen the 3 Bourne films - the Matt Damon ones.I bought them,They are brilliant. So i was hesistant when i heard about this.Which i why i rented, just to see if it is any good.I left my preconcieved ideas at the door, and watched it.Straight away, i 'got it'. I think peoples problem with this,is they think its a continuation of the previous 3,That Jeremy Renner is a Matt Damon/Jason Bourne replacement. No,he isn't.This story, is travelling alongside events from the third film, with a different slant - that Renner's character is an 'enhanced soldier',involved in a programme that is a branched off one from Bourne's.Once you accept that, an enjoyable film unfolds.Yes,its a bit slower Than Damon's films, so what? Solid performances from all the actors, good solid story.I for one enjoyed it,and look forward to the next.If you are not sure, just rent it,have a watch, make your own mind.

after reading many mixed reviews i decided to give it a look and try not to compare it to the previous bourne movies and that lys the problem..
you cant go into this trying to watch it as a stand alone movie..
after watching three fantastic episodes and then seeing this you left feeling a little disappointed..the storyline is there as the agency are trying to kill of all there agents..you do get some great chase scenes and and your fair share of action..i suppose what i was really disappointed about was the ending there is a great chase scene and wanted to see a big finale fight but as ever the movie just finished and left the door open for another..
as the previous reviewer states it does imply the jason is still alive maybe in the next one they can bring these two together and try to see them bring down the corruption in the agency..
now that would be a movie worth watching..

when the agency want or needs to close a program down there is a need to eliminate those agents who simply know too much.
which is where ( real name 'kenneth kitson ) and scientist 'dr marta shearing' come in.
they become a target of the agency, it's now a quest to survive the agencies efforts to eliminate them and try to expose the system.
many exciting chase and action sequences along the way, with the occasional reference to the agencies 'thorn in their side' ''jason bourne' who apparently still eludes those looking for him.
it's best to forget the ''bourne'' movies when watching this, or you'll find yourself making compoarisons.............could spoil what in truth is a good moivie.
